Job Description

The purpose of this role is to deliver improved and consistent customer service through the planning and execution of shopping programmes, the safe collection and transportation of products and samples, and the provision of administrative and operational support within the Service Centre, including sample receipt, registration and accessioning activities.

This is a full time role working Monday to Friday - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 09:00 - 17:15 and 09:00 - 17:30 on Wednesdays.

• To collect products / samples from customers, supermarkets in a timely, efficient and customer friendly manner.
• Ensure that all customer products / samples are correctly identified, handled, stored and transported under suitable conditions and at the appropriate temperature maintaining sample integrity and preventing contamination or cross-contamination.
• Plan and organise daily shopping activities to ensure the efficient completion of shopping programmes, maximise productivity while undertaking retailer visits and ensure the timely return of samples to the laboratory.
• Identify and escalate any unavailable, discontinued or substituted products that may impact customer shopping programmes.
• Responsible for returning of products / samples, sorting them and ensuring that the correct information is recorded onto LIMS system for samples that are to be analysed within Eurofins network of Laboratories.
• Undertake general administration duties including photocopying, data entry etc.
• To be accountable for customer satisfaction, notably through ensuring good reporting turnaround times and a rapid follow up of customer communications.
• Be aware of, and communicate to managers, any issues that might affect customers.
• Assist with sample disposal and general cleaning and maintenance.
• Cross-train in sample receipt, sample registration and sample accessioning activities to provide operational support in these areas.
• Export system generated shopping lists to Excel prior to scheduled shopping activities, ensuring the most up to date shopping schedule is used.
• Maintain segregation of samples and products throughout collection, transport, storage and registration activities to preserve sample integrity and traceability.
• Responsible for handling customer enquiries as appropriate via telephone and e-mail.
• Participate in the training programme, undergoing further training as required and participating in schemes to ensure on-going competence
• Additional duties as required to fulfil the requirements and demands of the Service Centre.
• To maintain the company vehicle at a suitable standard including cleanliness, appearance, tyres, oil and overall maintenance. Any problems with the vehicle should be notified to management immediately.
• It is the responsibility of this person to drive within all legal requirements and any endorsements received outside the legal requirements will be the responsibility of the driver themselves.

Qualifications

• A clean driving license with no previous endorsements is preferred.
• Proficient on Microsoft Office programmes.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• A pleasant and friendly disposition.
• Self-motivated and professional team player.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, organise and co-ordinate your own workload.
