Job Description

Department: INBOUND

Day/Shift: Weekend Days: (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) 6:00am to completion - INBOUND

  • Extra days/hours required based on volume.

Salary range: $55,000/year to $63,000/year

The Supervisor is a key frontline leader responsible for day-to-day execution of distribution and/or transportation operations within an assigned facility or satellite area. This role ensures outstanding service to internal and external customers, including third-party partners/carriers, by maintaining strong communication, conducting regular customer visits, and may include actively supporting business growth through sharing sales leads with the sales team.

The Supervisor builds and leads a high-performing team by modeling the company’s 5Cs (Commitment, Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, and Customer Focus) and by coaching associates to consistently achieve quality, safety, and productivity goals. They are accountable for meeting operational standards and driving performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

This role continuously evaluates processes and results, identifying opportunities to improve service, efficiency, and cost. The Supervisor recommends and implements changes to optimize workflows, balance labor, and respond to shifting business needs. They closely monitor daily schedules and proactively adjust staffing, work assignments, and routes based on volume and priority.

Core responsibilities may include coordinating, overseeing, and at times performing activities related to receipt, storage, order fulfillment, loading, and/or delivery of inventory to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management:
    • Supervise the receipt, storage, order filling, loading of inventory, and/or transportation activities for a department or small satellite location.
    • Monitor and record productivity and accuracy for the assigned area, ensuring operational goals and service levels are met.
    • As needed, perform hands-on operational tasks such as receipt, storage, order fulfillment, loading, and/or delivery of product.
  • People Leadership:
    • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team to achieve operational excellence.
    • Provide input into short-term staffing and coverage planning, including resource allocation based on volume and business needs.
    • Conduct performance reviews and ongoing coaching conversations; address performance issues and recognize strong performance.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and promote an open, collaborative work environment.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Promote and enforce a strong culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, SOPs, and company policies.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and provide ongoing safety training and reinforcement for associates.
  • Customer & Business Support:
    • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
    • May visit external customers to proactively identify potential business opportunities and/or conduct carrier reviews.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business needs and organizational objectives.

Education and Experience:

  • Level of Formal Education: High School diploma or equivalent, Bachelors preferred
  • Area of Study: Experience in a production, logistics, transportation, or business-to-business distribution facility.
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 2
  • Type of Experience: Distribution, Transportation, or Operations preferred.
  • Special Certifications: Black Belt certifications in 5s or Dale Carnegie courses preferred
  • Technical Competencies & Information Systems: Microsoft Office
  • Skills & Abilities: Strong communication and leadership skills, strong knowledge of warehouse and/or transportation operations and procedures, proven decision-making capabilities, ability to manage and motivate employees.
  • Additional Language Skills: English
