Cross Country Manager - Overland Park, KS
This is a full-time, exempt position.

The role of Freight and Logistics Manager is to work closely with ADM Origination, ADM Fertilizer, Soy/Corn Processing and other ADM FOB Trucking teams to maximize company trading opportunities. There is a strong emphasis on communication and teamwork in this position in an effort to provide cost competitive, reliable freight for the placement of ADM and third-party products in the marketplace. Manage day to day activities of direct reports including FOBT Merchandisers, Dispatchers and CSR’s. Maintain a close working relationship with freight settlement groups in Overland Park and Decatur.

  • Participate in the Overland Park region origination, trading and logistics, providing insight and discussing opportunities. Gain understanding of capacities and capabilities of Processing, Grain, Fertilizer and 3rd party assets in region to optimize logistics and execute on trades.
  • Manage and Mentor a group of FOB Trucking merchandisers to prepare them for future roles at ADM in Fertilizer, Processing, Logistics.
  • Discover and enhance domestic market opportunities in the Upper Midwest region. Increase the number of origination and destination markets while utilizing trucks to expand the draw territories for the region.
  • Identify and analyze market opportunities by maintaining close contact with other ADM divisions, external customers and truck carriers.
  • Maintain a precise understanding of current freight rates, freight lanes and product flows in the trade area.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • University Degree in Agriculture or related field of study
  • 5+ years of experience in commodity trading and or logistics
  • Computer competence, especially use of email, Future Source, AGRIS, IBM, and internal web based applications
  • Demonstrated capacity to excel in a fast paced environment
  • This position requires working at a desk both on a telephone and at a computer for prolonged periods of time
  • Some overnight travel required with this position

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$110,100.00 - $205,200.00
