Job Description

Sompo has a unique opportunity for a AgriSompo Senior Claims Auditor on our AgriSompo National Operations team.

As a Senior Crop Insurance Claims Auditor, you will deliver exceptional customer service to agents and producers by accurately and efficiently reviewing and processing medium to complex crop insurance claim files. You will serve as a subject matter expert in at least one area of claims auditing, providing guidance and expertise to support colleagues and ensure consistency and quality across all audit activities.

Location: This position will be remote and may be based in any of the following states: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Mississippi, Louisianna or Colorado. What you’ll be doing:

  • Audit and process claims timely and accurately in order to meet quality production standards.
  • Communicate with underwriters, adjusters, agents, and producers to ensure timely resolution of claim-related issues.
  • Work independently and with a team to identify problems, determine solutions and recommend appropriate communication of resolution.
  • Utilize publications to solve problems including Loss Adjustment Manuals (LAM), policy provisions, Standard Operating Procedures, and other internal resources.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and internal policies and procedures in all claim activities.
  • Exhibit auditing proficiency in all levels of Crop Claim types and ability to process moderate to advance level claims.
  • Research and resolve complex claims issues with limited supervision while maintaining accuracy and consistency.

What you’ll bring:

  • Preferred minimum of 5 years of crop insurance experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in crop insurance claims auditing and processing preferred.
  • Knowledge of and ability to understand Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) policies and company policies, procedures, and related software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general technical/computer systems.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, written, and communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers.

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Ability to stand or sit constantly/continuously.

Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.

Visual: The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

Environmental Conditions

The work environment described here are meant to be representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside where there are limited extremes to heat and/or cold; moderate noise; a normal office environment.

Travel required for meetings and trainings.

Salary Range: $56,000-$67,000. Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
