Job Description

Primary Function
The ERP Business Analyst II is responsible for independently supporting assigned business areas and ERP modules. Leads requirements gathering, solution design, testing, training, and operational support for defined functional domains. Serves as primary liaison between business users, IT, and ERP support teams for assigned processes.
Essential Duties
Requirements & Business Process Analysis
• Lead requirements gathering sessions for assigned functional areas.
• Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and user stories.
• Conduct process mapping, workflow analysis, and gap assessments.
• Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
• Define functional requirements for system enhancements and changes.
ERP Configuration & Solution Delivery
• Configure ERP modules within assigned functional scope.
• Validate system design against business requirements.
• Support integration, reporting, and data-related enhancements.
• Collaborate with IT and vendors to implement system changes.
• Ensure alignment between business processes and system configuration.
Testing, Release & Quality Management
• Develop test plans and detailed test scenarios.
• Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) coordination and execution.
• Validate system changes prior to production release.
• Support release planning and post-implementation stabilization.
• Document defects and ensure resolution through completion.
Business Support & Training
• Serve as primary functional contact for assigned business units.
• Investigate and resolve ERP-related issues and service requests.
• Develop and deliver end-user training sessions.
• Maintain process documentation, SOPs, and system guides.
• Provide ongoing functional support and user guidance.
Continuous Improvement & Functional Ownership
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
• Evaluate enhancement requests and provide recommendations.
• Support ERP governance and standardization efforts.
• Contribute functional expertise to cross-functional initiatives.
• Promote adoption of ERP best practices within assigned area.
Minimum Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business admin, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
Work Experience
• 3-5+ years of experience in business systems, ERP or operations experience.
Physical
• Ability to sit for extended periods using a PC and telephone.
• After hours work may be needed during releases, cutovers, and critical incidents.
• Limited travel may be required for training, vendor workshops or site support.
Other
• Proficiency with MS Dynamics AX 2012/D365, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with test management, requirements tracking, and ticketing tools (e.g., Azure DevOps/Jira/ServiceNow) is beneficial.
• Experience in ERP product management, release management, or business systems analysis for D365 Finance & Operations (or other D365 modules).
• Adult training/facilitation experience preferred.
• Experience working with external vendors/VARs and cross-functional delivery teams.
• Strategic and systems thinking.
• Process Improvement and CI mindset.
• Change leadership mindset.
• Experience working with PC or mainframe applications with intermediate to advanced skills.
• Attended CI Leader training offered by GPEC CI Team (or commitment to complete within 12 months).
• Demonstrated experience in requirements definition, configuration, testing/UAT, and release support.
• Strong analytical skills; ability to identify process gaps, design solutions, and quantify impact.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), facilitation, customer service, and stakeholder management skills.

Gregory Poole Equipment Company was founded by James Gregory Poole, Sr., and his uncle, William Lewis Gregory on April 1, 1951. With headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, Gregory Poole became the Cat construction equipment dealer for eastern North Carolina. Poole and his family obtained W.L. Gregory's shares in Gregory Poole Equipment Company and became the sole owners in 1961. Since that time the company has expanded its operations to 25 locations providing sales, rental, parts and service for construction, forestry, ag, lift systems, marine power, power generation equipment, trucks, buses and RVs in eastern North Carolina, as well as lift systems in eastern South Carolina and Virginia.
