  • Analyze and resolve recurring or complex infrastructure issues and incorporate lessons learned into standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Network Planning, Construction, and vendors on infrastructure and technology deployments.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering or technical discipline; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Six (6) or more years of relevant experience in Data Center, telecommunications, critical facilities, or similar critical infrastructure environments.

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of critical infrastructure systems, including electrical distribution, UPS, DC power, batteries, generators, HVAC/cooling, fire protection, and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Experience evaluating, testing, qualifying, and implementing critical infrastructure products, technologies, tools, or systems.
  • Working knowledge of BMS/EMS or similar infrastructure monitoring and control systems.
  • Ability to develop and review engineering drawings, one-line diagrams, equipment specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with infrastructure capacity management for power, backup power, batteries, cooling, and environmental systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical issues, develop solutions, and communicate engineering recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of applicable Data Center and telecommunications standards and practices, including TIA, BICSI, ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, and IEEE.
  • Experience leading laboratory or field testing and qualification of critical infrastructure equipment.
  • Experience working directly with equipment manufacturers and vendors on product development, evaluation, and qualification.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools.
  • Relevant Data Center, electrical, mechanical, telecommunications, or critical facilities certifications or technical training.

Expectations

  • Work independently and collaboratively across technical, operational, construction, planning, and vendor teams.
  • Balance long-term engineering priorities with short-term project and operational needs.
  • Influence technical decisions through sound engineering analysis, recommendations, and effective communication.
  • Apply strong engineering judgment, attention to detail, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
  • Take ownership of assigned standards, designs, technology evaluations, and engineering solutions while providing technical guidance to other team members.
