Under direction of the Sr Facility Manager this role works as a team member in an Operations & Maintenance organization that provides a variety of O&M services within a 24/7/365 data center environment. Also provides operational support to include assisting with shipping and receiving activities while ensuring the protection of shipment contents against loss or damage. As a hands-on role, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment is paramount. Additionally, associates may be required to provide customer escorts on an as-needed basis, which could involve after-hours or short notice callouts.
The Data Center Operations Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and logistics of assigned facilities. This role ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operation of critical infrastructure while assisting with shipping/receiving, vendor coordination, and client support activities.

Key Responsibilities
Support daily operations of data center and assigned facility spaces under direction of the Senior Facility Manager
Assist in monitoring and maintaining building systems and equipment
Coordinate with vendors and contractors to support maintenance and project activities
Act as “ Smart Hands and Feet” for client requests
Perform shipping and receiving activities, including preparing, tracking, loading, and unloading materials
Maintain accurate records of shipments, including weights, charges, and documentation
Receive, inspect, and report damaged or missing materials
Manage internal transport of equipment and materials across the facility
Support inventory management and general facility tasks, including light janitorial duties as needed
Follow all company, client, and regulatory policies including EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) standards
Ensure all work meets established quality and workmanship standards
Identify and report safety, security, or operational risks to management
Participate in required training, including on-the-job and specialized technical training
Maintain awareness of building operational procedures and guidelines
Provide input on equipment evaluations and contractor scopes when required
Support documentation, reporting, and operational tracking activities
Be available for on-call, after-hours, and emergency response work as needed
Qualifications
Ability to perform assigned duties in a fast-paced, operational environment
Must have basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or facility systems
Datacenter experience preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn and adapt through hands-on experience and training
Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting and moving equipment
Education & Experience
0 – 2 years experience in operations & maintenance roles or customer service experience in a loading dock environment.
Must be able to use personal computers.
