Job Description

Critical Care Transport Nurse Lead-(25000103)The Transport Lead, under the direction of the Transport Clinical Manager, will assume a lead role in Transport Clinical Operations as well as the coaching and development of Transport Clinical staff. The Lead will share in a rotating administrative call. The Lead will collaborate closely with the other members of the Transport Leadership team. Responsible for daily clinical operations. Provides 24-hour accountability for planning, managing, and evaluating department clinical functions.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Minimum Work Experience
5 years Nursing experience (Required) And
3 years Pediatric critical care or pediatric emergency care experience (Required) And
1 year Transport experience (Required) And
1 year Demonstrated leadership experience (Preferred)

Required Skills/Knowledge

Skills in using computers and knowledgeable in Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organization skills handling multiple tasks and setting priorities.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) 180 Days (Required)
STABLE 180 Days (Required)

Functional Accountabilities
Clinical Administration

  • Collaborate with Clinical Manager on significant operational issues/barriers.
  • Assist the Clinical Manager to develop, implement, and evaluate clinical services, policies and procedures, and performance standards to achieve departmental goals.
  • Ensure compliance with CNH policies and procedures.

Daily Clinical Operations

  • Accountable for staffing and assigning coverage for all roles within Transport Medicine; engages with Scheduling Shift Coordinator and the Clinical and Operations Managers to problem solve.
  • Responsible for 24/7 assessment and supervision of clinical operations for Transport clinicians.
  • Accountable for the coordination of all scheduled Transport requests. Will maintain a workflow to support these requests and will be responsive to customer inquiries or concerns.
  • Responsible for the Transport Intake role. Will maintain workflows in support of intake. Will be the liaison between Intake and various other stakeholders including TCS, Clinical Team, and Medical Command Officers.

  • Demonstrate advanced communication skills in dealing with staff and all members of the healthcare team.
  • Provide constructive, sensitive and timely feedback to staff concerning their performance in verbal and written form.
  • Effectively manage conflict and assist others to understand their behavior and their effect on the work environment.
  • Communicate and escalate issues as appropriate to the Managers and Director.

Human Resources

  • Direct assigned staff to meet departmental objectives, in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.
  • Provide timely coaching and performance feedback.

Safety

  • Speak up when team members appear to exhibit unsafe behavior or performance
  • Continuously validate and verify information needed for decision making or documentation
  • Stop in the face of uncertainty and takes time to resolve the situation
  • Demonstrate accurate, clear and timely verbal and written communication
