
Inova L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital is seeking a dedicated Critical Care Paramedic to join our Pediatric Interfacility Transport team. This role will be full time, night shift 7PM – 7:30AM. Three 12-hour shifts per week (days vary); Candidates must be available to work any day of the week when scheduled. Candidates must be able to attend a paid 6 week training period.

The Critical Care Transport Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic practices within the guidelines of the protocols for the transport program that are reviewed and agreed on by medical and nursing directors. Assists the team leader in obtaining pertinent pediatric, neonatal and childhood histories, performs physical assessments (neonates through adolescents) and formulates and implements care management plans. Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of a Paramedic. With expertise in the pre-hospital setting, the Paramedic is ensures that while in the out-of-hospital setting, the transport team is working in a safe and secure environment, provides family-centered care to meet family needs, including psychosocial support, education and transfer planning in conjunction with referral staff.
