• Rapidly assess patients and provide lifesaving care according to protocol

• Provide direct patient care in pre-hospital and hospital settings withintheCritical CareParamedicscope of practice, includingthe administration ofapprovedmedications

• Provideage-appropriatecare across neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

• Operate ambulance safely; transport sick or injured persons while avoiding motions detrimental to patients.

• Cover on-call hours andstaffspecial events as directed to meet departmental needs.

• Perform daily/weekly vehicle and rig checks;maintain,restockand clean unit after eachrun

• Complete patient care documentation after each call and in the Emergency Department as needed.

• Participate in peer review and chart audits

• Maintain personal training logs and track continuing education hours (CEHs).

• Assistin orientation of new EMTs,Advanced EMTs, Paramedics, and Critical Care Paramedics; provideeducation to staff and the public as requested.

• Precept and mentorEMT,Advanced EMT, and Paramedicstudents.

• Maintain a professional public image;participatein public relations activities.

• Support Community Paramedicine program tasks (e.g., medication reconciliation, brief home safety review, patient assessment, red flag education, follow-up coordination, and documentation).

• Use radios and communication systems effectively

• Collaborate withproviders,nursesand other healthcare professionals.

• Ask for assistance when needed toensuresafety for all involved.

• Attend required safety programs; consistently use personal protective equipment; follow departmental emergency procedures.

• Maintain a safe working environment; report and remove unsafe equipment.

• Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and proceduresin order toensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

• Mustpossessa comprehensive understanding of theCritical CareParamedicscope of practice, including all clinical procedures, patient care standards, and legal/regulatory requirements governing emergency medical services. This knowledge should encompass state and local protocols, documentation standards, infection control practices, and the ability to apply these principles effectively in both pre-hospital and hospital settings. Additionally, theCritical CareParamedicshoulddemonstrateproficiencyin recognizing limitations of the role and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, high-quality patient care

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

• Graduate ofanapprovedParamediccoursewith a current Iowaand/or IllinoisParamediccertification,or an Iowa RN Exemption and/or Illinois PHRN certification, based on role and service areaIf working in the Genesis Market,need Iowa and Illinoiswithin120 daysof hire or transfer.

• Iowa Critical Care Paramedic endorsementrequired

• Maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report, meeting all organizational motor vehicle safety standards.

• National Incident Management System (NIMS) - 100 (preferred).

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)required

• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)required

• American Heart AssociationPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)required

• Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) provider (preferred)

• AdvanceMedical Life Support (AMLS) provider (preferred)

• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.

• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) within 6 months of hire

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)asapplicable

• Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or equivalent within 1 year of hire.

• Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
