Base pay for this position will be $82,828.80
The Sheriff’s Office provides public safety at all times and therefore every position is deemed essential. All positions are in-person and not eligible for remote work. Every position is also subject to recall based on the needs of the Office to keep the community safe.
This position has an anticipated work schedule of:
10-hour shift with an anticipated schedule of Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday, 11:00am - 9:00pm, subject to change based on operational needs.
Training schedule may include an 8-hour shift of Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, subject to change based on operational needs.

Monitors real-time and pending calls for the Sheriff’s Office Intelligence-Based Operations Center (IBOC), enhancing information for responding personnel to resolve incidents. Oversees camera systems for ongoing situations and pre-planned operations. Actively locates and provides real-time situational awareness via radio/phone for priority calls/operations. Assists first responders in real-time to prevent injury/damage, monitor disturbances, identify threats, and provide video evidence. Collaborates with outside agencies by sharing data to identify criminal activity, patterns, trends, and suspects.
Examples of duties
- Provides situational awareness to include but not limited to, tracking evolving situations, monitoring open-source internet social media information, identification of possible suspects, suspect vehicles, and locating fleeing suspects. Assists and communicates with personnel in the field utilizing police radios, mobile cell phones, and any approved software.
- Performs statistical and analytical research using computer data software, random statistical sampling, correlation and regression analysis, and probability studies; analyzes and interprets information to find significant differences and similarities in the information, or in the relationship among the various pieces of information and prepares conclusions and forecasts based on data summaries.
- Prepares information and/or intelligence packets based on investigations or related official incidents.
- Responds to and operates from the Sheriff’s Office IBOC. Provides video monitoring of activities during special events, protests, and large police gatherings. When directed, assists other outside agencies with active operations.
- Assists primary drone operators with pre-flight planning, equipment readiness, and post-flight documentation.
- Serves as a backup drone pilot for the IBOC unit, supporting aerial operations during critical incidents, investigations, and planned missions.
- Requests video evidence during or after critical incidents and post-incident investigations.
- Manages the storage and archiving of video recordings on appropriate media, directly places evidence into digital evidence software to maintain chain of custody and provides court testimony on the validity and authenticity of video footage.
- Required to conduct daily camera performance updates and provide a report of the results.
- Answers phone and electronic communications requests during the shift for a variety of informational and troubleshooting technical issues and questions.
- Researches complex information from criminal intelligence files, written reports, information from other law enforcement sources, and memory.
- Develops and presents information to line-level personnel, supervisory personnel, prosecutors, juries, and the public.
- Serves as primary liaison with outside agency personnel for Crime Analyst / IBOC related matters, including collaboration, site visits, and meetings.
- Collaborates with surrounding agencies on multi-jurisdictional cases or events.
- May participate in field observation with deputies; attends shift or operations briefings.
- Creates links, telephone, financial, and profile charts for personnel.
- Testifies in court when necessary.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of law enforcement practices, investigative techniques, criminal law, government standards, and operations of outside agencies.
- Ability to work in a high-stress environment and engage in rapid critical thinking.
- Ability to work with and communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with personnel, outside law enforcement agencies and the public.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret and evaluate various methodologies and associated data.
- Skills in reviewing, sorting, or collecting data from a variety of sources.
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Must possess strong data entry skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher.
- Must be honest, truthful, trustworthy, and possess a high degree of personal integrity.
- Must be organized and possess the ability to manage multiple tasks and reprioritize as work situations change.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, criminology, sociology/social science, business, statistics, or a related field.
- Two years of demonstrated experience within the criminal justice field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher.
- Experience performing data entry duties.
- Any equivalent combination of related education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job will be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Certified Crime and Intelligence Analyst.
- Previous law enforcement experience.
- Knowledge of programs such as Accurint, GeoTime, IBM i2 Notebook, Crystal Reports, SQL Server, LERMS, Beacon, Tyler CAD, and NCIC/CCIC databases.
Licenses/Certificates
- Must possess or obtain and maintain an active FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate within 6 months of hire.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must obtain and maintain Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Compliance within six months of employment.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, truth verification examination, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen.
Supplemental information
Duties are primarily performed in an office environment and may or may not be in a detention facility. The location operates 7 days a week with various shifts that can occur during the day or night. In special circumstances, personnel may be requested to work overtime or during normally scheduled days off. Will be expected to work a scheduled shift that encompasses nights and weekends. Some degree of hazard to personal safety with exposure to violent inmates and contagious disease. Some travel required; occasionally attends shift briefings and visits surrounding agencies to collaborate regarding cases or events occurring in multiple jurisdictions.
