Job Location: City of Wheeling - WHEELING, WV 26003, CRIME ANALYST
Definition: Under the direction of the Chief of Police in the Police Department, this is a professional level full-time position involving the collection, interpretation, recording and reporting of statistics and trends as related to crime and incident reports. The employee is responsible for conducting crime pattern, series and trend analysis activities and preparing reports related to the same.
Physical Conditions and Nature of Work Contacts: Regular lifting and movement of equipment/supplies weighing up to 25 pounds. Work is typically performed in meeting rooms, conference rooms, homes, schools and public buildings. Frequent operation of a motor vehicle throughout Wheeling/Ohio County in occasional inclement weather is required. Regular contact with internal staff at all levels, community organizations, local citizens and citizen groups is required. The position may be required to work during evening hours, on weekends or may be subject to call out.Qualifications: Special Requirements:
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice, public administration or a related field preferable (Master's Degree preferred); two (2) years of experience in statistical and management analysis; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
