Performs professional statistical and analytical activities in researching, collecting, organizing, evaluating, synthesizing, reporting, and disseminating data and information on crime analyses both in and outside of the City’s immediate jurisdiction. Supports the department’s patrol and investigations objectives by providing tactical analytical assistance and aid in the efficient deployment of resources, increasing criminal apprehensions, and clearing criminal cases. Work is performed independently under limited supervision with moderate latitude. Position typically requires processing and interpreting of more complex, less clearly defined issues.

Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminalistics, Research and Statistical Methods, or related field. Directly related experience in research, analysis, and reporting on crime and law enforcement statistics, demonstrating broad exposure to official law enforcement databases and criminal intelligence resources or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience is preferred.
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment. Must possess a Certified Law Enforcement Analyst (CLEA) or equivalent designation. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
