Job Description

Role Overview

The Crewperson – Coating supports the OCTG/NDT inspection team with preparation activities for inspection and coating operations.

This role involves preparing equipment and materials, carrying out practical yard tasks, marking materials accurately, and maintaining a safe and organised work area. All work must be completed in line with customer requirements, industry standards, NOV procedures, quality requirements, and HSE expectations.

The position works closely with the Inspection Supervisor, Yard Supervisor, and wider operations team to support safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with equipment and material preparation for inspection activities.
  • Operate preparation equipment, including wire brushing, buffing, grinding, and related tools.
  • Carry out material marking, including stencilling, numbering, and colour coding.
  • Monitor equipment condition and report damage, defects, or concerns.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area.
  • Follow work instructions, inspection criteria, company procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Support process improvements and help prevent non-conformance.
  • Participate in toolbox talks and promote safe working practices.
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently and support operational targets.
  • Travel and carry out other reasonable duties when required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • General education, vocational training, or relevant practical experience.
  • Basic knowledge of yard, workshop, inspection, or industrial operations.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Strong commitment to HSE, quality, housekeeping, and compliance.
  • Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills.

Preferred / Advantageous Qualifications

  • Experience in OCTG, NDT, coating, inspection preparation, or oilfield services.
  • Experience using wire brushing, buffing, grinding, hydraulic, or electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of material identification, including stencilling, numbering, and colour coding.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance, HSE practices, and toolbox talks.
  • Proactive, customer-focused, and solution-oriented approach.
