Our Company operates over 130 towboats on the Mississippi River System, Gulf-Intracoastal Waterway, and near-shore coastwise market. In addition, the Company controls over 1,000 dry cargo barges. The Company has additional offices in St Rose, LA, Lockport, LA and La Porte, TX. With over 1,800 vessel and shore-based employees, Marquette is the largest provider of independent towing services within the inland waterways. Principal Responsibilities:
• Actively collaborate with the Operations leadership team driving cohesion, superior communication, and business results.
• Contribute to development, adoption, and execution of new and innovative department processes and business rules.
• Embrace and monitor key indicators driving VMT accountability for crew utilization, travel, performance, retention, and other key metrics.
• Responsible for the effective staffing of vessels.
• Responsible for crew dispatch and travel, ensuring vessels are effectively staffed.
• Guiding crew performance management and employee coaching and corrective action for members on their Vessel Management Team (VMT).
• Responsible for crew travel budget, driving continuous improvement.
• Coach and develop crew to improve their skills and support their professional growth.
• Perform on-call rotation ensuring coverage over holidays and weekends.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management or related field preferred.
• Data analysis and metrics competencies with ability to interpret, apply, and adapt to findings.
• Highly adaptive to changes in process due to improvements in technology.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and team building skills.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Process management with ability to continuously improve sustainable, end-to-end processes.
