Are you an experienced recreational team lead and/or supervisor? Do you have an understanding of cultural and ballfield clay maintenance and/or artificial turf field maintenance and are passionate about serving the public? Our Twin Lakes Regional Sports Complex, and nearby athletic fields, are in need of a Crew Leader to coordinate and operate the parks, special events, athletic related activities, and to ensure maintenance and public safety.

In this role, you will assist the Park Supervisor in operating the Twin Lakes Regional Sports Complex and nearby athletic fields, guide and coordinate our Trades Workers in ballfield and artificial turf field maintenance practices, as well as assist in the coordination and operation of special events and athletic related activities. Other tasks include training new staff, overseeing routine and corrective maintenance, record keeping, work order completion, and ensuring overall park safety. For more information, please see below.
Oversee the supervision of Trades Workers in the absence of the Park Supervisor.
Coordinate equipment assignments and supplies to complete tasks and provide subordinate instructions.
Assist with special events at the sports complex, acting as a liaison with event coordinators and managers.
Perform ballfield and site-related duties in the maintenance of the complex.
Operate light automotive equipment and ballfield maintenance equipment including autonomous painter and turf scrubber, landscape, and hand tools.
Follow and complete schedules of maintenance activities.
Maintain operating records, supply requests, and complete work orders.
Participate in quality inspections of the complex.
Ensure ground safety (i.e. irrigation leaks, landscaping issues, broken or damaged complex amenities) by performing inspections and taking appropriate action.
Manage proactive assessments of fraud awareness, prevention, detection, and risk mitigation activities in area of responsibility.
Oversee financial, compliance, operational, and performance audits.
Review audit findings and ensure appropriate controls are established and implemented.
Work Hours:
Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
Typical schedule Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Weekends, evenings, and/orholidays can be required for special events.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or an equivalent education -and- one year of experience in an athletic grounds maintenance role.
Valid Florida driver's license by date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior supervisory experience.
Experience with work order systems.
An understanding of cultural and ballfield clay maintenance and/or artificial turf field maintenance.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs using a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or by working with another team member to lift and/or move excessive poundage of 50 plus pounds.
Starting Pay Rate: $23.24 (Step 1)
