This role is a part of our Merchant Credit Underwriting & Monitoring team which has the overall responsibility for Qliro's efforts to prevent credit losses associated with our business customers. As a Merchant Credit Underwriter, you will perform analyses on new merchant cooperation proposals and support in assessing other counterparty risks Qliro may encounter. The team monitors existing customers on an ongoing basis to swiftly detect and take action on deteriorating businesses. The team, furthermore, sets out guidelines for the work that is performed within the operations department and acts as a first escalation instance for larger and more complex decisions.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of the problem space and have the opportunity to spread your domain knowledge as well as propose improvements to our current processes and guidelines. You will report directly to the Chief Analytics Officer & Chief Credit Officer (CAO & CCrO).

As a Merchant Credit Underwriter you will:

• Analyze and assess the credit risk on incoming business proposals and present recommendations to the Credit Committee

• Hold a decision mandate of your own

• Analyse, monitor, and mitigate risks of our current portfolios

• Continuously monitor, re-assess, and propose actions for current business exposures

• Contribute to developing our internal guidelines and procedures
  

Your profile:

• At least 4+ years of performing corporate financial analysis/credit assessment.

• Curious, structured, analytical, quality-oriented, eye for details.

• Good collaboration and communication skills.

• Without being an expert, you need to be able to consider regulatory, business, and customer perspectives, and to balance those perspectives in your recommendations.

• Good at exploring and learning how to use new systems without complete instructions.

• Confident Excel user.

• Previous underwriting experience, preferably within loans and/or banking

• Fluent in Swedish and English
  

Meriting:

• Experience in SQL

• Previous KYC, AML, and fraud prevention experience

• Experience from working with businesses in another Nordic country
