About The Role

The Credit Solutions Specialist is a key member of the Corporate Asset Based Finance team and acts as the link between Sales, Credit, Portfolio Management, Legal and Operations. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the acquisition of Asset Based Finance clients through the analysis, structuring, packaging and execution of complex credit facilities while balancing client needs with the bank's risk appetite.

The role requires a strong understanding of commercial credit principles, financial analysis, asset-based finance structures and risk management. Success in the role is driven by the ability to structure commercially viable solutions, influence stakeholders, maintain credit quality and support business growth objectives.

Successful candidate will be based in Acacia House, Umhlanga (Office based – 5 days).

Are you someone who can:

  • Analyse financial statements, management accounts, cash flow forecasts and supporting information to assess client creditworthiness
  • Work in a fast pace environment
  • Structure funding solutions across a range of asset classes and industries in line with business strategy and risk appetite.
  • Prepare and present high-quality credit applications and motivate in committees for approval.
  • Engage with sales teams, clients, credit managers, legal teams and other stakeholders throughout the deal lifecycle.
  • Negotiate transaction structures and conditions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate key transaction and portfolio risks.
  • Ensure compliance with credit policy, regulatory requirements and governance standards.
  • Support the implementation of approved facilities by facilitating fulfilment of conditions precedent and documentation requirements.
  • Contribute to portfolio quality through proactive risk identification and management.
  • Drive turnaround times and service delivery standards to support business growth and client satisfaction.
  • Assist in developing innovative funding solutions for complex client requirements.
  • Review cost reports and resolves or explains variances to the budget Identify, control and escalate potential risks that may lead to increased risk
  • Build relationships that allow for the managing of expectations; the sharing of knowledge and diverse insights; and the creation of buy-in
  • Collect and interrogate information and feedback to ensure full understanding of customer needs to deliver a quality service
  • Deliver service that exceeds customer expectations through proactive, innovative and appropriate solution selection and application
  • Promote teamwork and inclusivity amongst team members and demonstrates behaviours that respect diversity
  • Partner and collaborate with team members to achieve team success
  • Share information and knowledge that benefits the team

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree
  • 4-5 years’ Credit experience in a banking or financial institution
  • Asset Based Finance experience will be an advantage
  • In accordance with National Credit Act (NCA) candidates applying for this role will require a credit record check
