What this role is all about:

The Credit Solutions Associate provides critical credit support and analysis to the Commercial team, ensuring strong portfolio performance and compliance with Beem’s credit standards. This role focuses on financial analysis, underwriting, and risk assessment for renewals and new lending opportunities, contributing to Beem’s growth and commitment to financial wellness through digital-first solutions.

This role is open to a hybrid work arrangement working from our Burnaby Hub approximately twice per week.

What you’ll do:

Credit Analysis & Underwriting

• Analyze financial statements, appraisals, and environmental reports to assess creditworthiness and risk.
• Prepare annual reviews, loan renewals, and underwriting documentation in compliance with Beem’s credit policies.
• Assist Credit Solutions Managers and Relationship Managers with margin calculations, loan draw requests, and covenant compliance.

Portfolio Management

• Monitor portfolio quality, exposure limits, and security requirements to safeguard Beem’s assets.
• Maintain client files and ensure accurate data input for financial history, net worth, and appraisal details.
• Support proactive management of problem loans through delinquency reporting and escalation processes.

Compliance & Risk Oversight

• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and Beem’s risk management framework.
• Review appraiser and quantity surveyor progress reports and prepare construction draw recommendations.
• Implement procedures to minimize loan and revenue loss through early identification of risks.

Collaboration & Member Support

• Liaise with members and internal teams to provide seamless service and timely resolution of inquiries.
• Collaborate with Credit Solutions Managers and Relationship Managers to support new lending opportunities and portfolio growth.
• Contribute to team objectives through knowledge sharing and process improvement initiatives.

What you’ll bring:

• Post-secondary education in financial accounting or related field required.
• 1-3 years of experience in financial services with exposure to credit analysis and underwriting.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Working knowledge of credit structuring and risk assessment.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and financial analysis tools.

• Compensation: Annual salary range of $77,400 - $96,800, with pay based on your skills and experience, and performance bonuses tied to shared goals
