Job Description
Oriental’s Credit Risk Trainee Development Program is an 18-month accelerated experience designed for high-potential graduates seeking to strengthen their business, analytical, and leadership capabilities in a dynamic, digitally driven financial environment.
Through structured rotations across key Credit Risk functions, trainees will evaluate credit exposures, analyze financial information, and contribute to decisions that protect portfolio quality and drive financial performance. The program combines hands-on experience, mentorship, and enterprise-wide collaboration to prepare participants for long-term career growth within Oriental.
Participants will gain experience across multiple business areas, including Credit Administration, Corporate Banking, Auto, Finance & Accounting, Internal Audit, Legal, Marketing, and Risk & Compliance.
This is a hybrid position based in Oriental Center, San Juan, PR.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Drive Credit Decisions Through Financial Analysis
Perform financial spreading and support credit evaluations and memorandums, generating insights aligned with the Bank’s credit policies and risk standards. - Protect Portfolio Quality
Support ongoing credit reviews, monitor covenant compliance, and track loan maturities to ensure timely risk mitigation actions. - Strengthen Risk Assessment with Data Insights
Analyze borrower information and financial trends to identify early warning signals and support informed decision-making. - Collaborate Across the Organization
Partner with cross-functional teams, gaining insight into how different business areas operate and contribute to overall performance. - Expand Business Perspective
Rotate across key units to develop a comprehensive understanding of banking operations and industry dynamics. - Advance Your Professional Growth
Participate in mentorship, coaching, and structured learning experiences to strengthen leadership, communication, and execution skills.

WHO SHOULD APPLY
- Recent Graduates: Candidates who have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within the last 24 months are preferred.
- Fields of Study: Degrees in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- Experience Level: Prior internship or project experience is a plus; strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities are expected.
- Work Schedule & Location: This position operates in a hybrid environment based in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
- Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the US required. This position is of indefinite duration and requires candidates to have permanent work authorization.
