
Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.
We are looking for an Associate to support the Firm Risk Management's Credit Risk Management team dedicated to evaluating credit risk transactions considering the availability and appropriateness of arrangements for reducing risk or risk mitigation. The department also assigns Internal Credit Ratings; establishes and manages credit risk limits in accordance with the risk tolerance established by the Board; monitors and reports on credit risk exposures on a regular basis to the Chief Risk Officer and Firm Risk Management. CRM also interacts with business units to ensure that credit risk assessments are factored into business decisions. The role is located in Frankfurt.
What will be you're doing:
> Act as the MSESE Credit representative for inter affiliate outsourcing arrangements, serving as the local owner of outsourcing agreements. Responsibilities include the identification and assessment of new outsourcings, including the design of appropriate KPIs; in addition to the ongoing monitoring and supervision of these internal outsourcing arrangements.
> Oversee certain projects within EMEA Credit Risk, involving the development and ongoing oversight of project plans and strong stakeholder engagement.
> Serve as the MSESE Credit representative for Non Financial Risk processes, including but not limited to the NFRA, with responsibility for challenging operational risk assessments and ensuring their relevance and proportionality to the entity.
> Contribute to operational resilience exercises on behalf of EMEA Credit Risk, including Business Continuity Planning, Recovery Planning and other associated processes.
> Contribute to regulatory exercises, including regular submissions and ad-hoc requests. Coordinate input from subject matter experts and produce Credit focused materials.
> Support ad hoc and periodic governance activities, including the review of Credit Risk Policies & Procedures as they relate to MSESE and MSIG, and contribute to the annual validation of key controls.
> Provide ad hoc support for internal committee presentations relating to EMEA Credit Risk.
> Support the MSESE Head of Credit Risk in interactions with Internal and External Audit, including the coordination of subject matter experts and oversight of remediation.
> As the EMEA Credit COO team representative in MSESE, support the local team with ad hoc requests related to training and development, travel and entertainment, entitlements to Firm systems and subscriptions to credit and market data services.

What you will bring:
> Bachelor's degree or equivalent
> Experience of working in a Risk & Control or COO function within the financial services industry
> Experience of project managing and delivering strategic and regulatory projects
> Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally
> Ability to work independently in a self-directed way in a collaborative environment
> An interest in working in a fast-paced environment, often balancing multiple high priority deliverables
> Strong attention to detail and ability to provide information in usable formats (proficiency in Microsoft office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
> Fluency in English is required
