As a Credit Risk Analyst at Premier Foods, you'll play a key role in helping us balance commercial opportunity with effective risk management. Working across a diverse customer portfolio, you'll provide the insight and analysis that helps protect cash flow, minimise risk and support sustainable business growth.

You'll work closely with colleagues across Credit & Collections, Commercial and Finance teams, providing recommendations that influence decision-making and support some of the UK's most loved brands.

And this isn't just about reviewing financial statements and applying policy. It's about understanding the story behind the numbers, identifying emerging risks, asking the right questions and helping the business make better, more informed decisions.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll play a key role in assessing, monitoring and managing customer credit risk across our Accounts Receivable portfolio, helping ensure we make robust, commercially sound and well-governed credit decisions that support business growth while protecting cash flow and minimising bad debt exposure.

Working closely with Credit & Collections, Commercial and Finance teams, you'll provide insight and recommendations that support effective decision-making across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting end-to-end credit assessments for new and existing customers, including due diligence, credit checks and risk evaluation.
• Analysing financial statements, management accounts, payment performance, credit agency reports and external market intelligence.
• Assessing customer creditworthiness and making recommendations on credit limits, payment terms and risk classifications.
• Managing and monitoring a portfolio of customer accounts, identifying changes in risk exposure, payment behaviour or financial performance.
• Conducting regular credit reviews and recommending appropriate actions based on changing risk profiles and business exposure.
• Identifying emerging risks and early warning indicators, ensuring issues are escalated appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Partnering with Credit & Collections teams to support effective credit decisions, collection strategies and working capital performance.
• Working closely with Commercial teams to balance growth opportunities with prudent risk management.
• Providing analysis and recommendations on high-risk, complex or deteriorating customer accounts.
• Maintaining accurate customer credit data, documentation and audit trails in line with governance requirements.
• Supporting credit risk reporting, portfolio reviews and the provision of risk insights to stakeholders.
• Ensuring compliance with Credit Policy, delegated authorities and risk management frameworks.
• Identifying opportunities to strengthen processes, controls and governance standards through continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys analysing information, making recommendations and influencing decisions through evidence-based insight.

You'll bring:

• Experience within Credit Risk, Credit Underwriting, Credit Management or Commercial Credit environments.
• Strong financial analysis skills, including reviewing balance sheets, profit and loss accounts and cash flow information.
• Experience assessing customer creditworthiness and managing credit exposure.
• A strong understanding of credit risk principles and working capital management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Confidence communicating recommendations and influencing stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and sound commercial judgement.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.

The following would be advantageous:

• A professional credit qualification.
• Experience with tools such as Dun & Bradstreet, Experian or Creditsafe.
• SAP experience.
• Experience working within a shared services or centre of excellence environment.
