This role involves conducting thorough financial and credit risk assessments for a wide range of corporate and financial partners, mainly focused on European energy markets.
Based in Budapest, the position is part of the Global Credit Risk Function, reporting to the Head of Credit, with close interaction across business units and support functions across Europe.

Beyond strong core credit skills, the role requires a highly analytical profile with expertise or strong interest in intelligent automation, data analytics, and AIenabled tools, contributing to the continuous improvement, productivity, and scalability of the Credit Shared Competence Center (CSCC).

Essential responsibilities

  • Credit Risk Assessment & Portfolio Management
    • Perform in‑depth qualitative and quantitative credit risk analyses of corporate and financial counterparties.
    • Prepare clear, structured, decision‑oriented credit assessments, including ratings, limits, and credit recommendations.
    • Maintain and review credit risk metrics (ratings, PDs, limits, utilisation) and ensure ongoing portfolio quality.
    • Identify early‑warning signals and propose risk mitigation actions (collateral, prepayments, limit adjustments, action plans).
    • Contribute to sector reviews, portfolio analyses, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
    • Support recovery and workout efforts for financially distressed counterparties in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Risk Monitoring, Reporting & Governance
    • Monitor exposure evolution and anticipate potential credit limit breaches, ensuring timely escalation.
    • Contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly credit risk reporting.
    • Present credit views in internal working groups and governance forums.
    • Support the management of Credit Risk Insurance policies, including limit monitoring and periodic declarations.
    • Educate the wider organisation on advanced credit solutions and methodologies to effectively manage credit risk.
  • Intelligent Automation & Analytics
    • Actively contribute to the automation and digitalisation of credit risk workflows, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
    • Apply advanced analytical and automation tools (e.g. Excel modelling, Power BI, Python, SQL, VBA, low‑code tools and AI) to:
      • Reduce manual processing
      • Improve analytical depth and consistency
      • Enhance portfolio‑level insights and early‑warning capabilities
    • Collaborate with Credit, IT, and Digital Transformation teams to translate analytical ideas into practical, scalable solutions used by the CSCC.

Qualifications

- 2–5 years of relevant experience in credit risk, financial analysis, risk management, consulting, or analytics‑intensive finance roles

- University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field

- ​​​Strong understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, leverage, liquidity, and credit drivers

- Fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage

- Strong quantitative and analytical mindset with solid problem‑solving skills

- Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI, Python, SQL, VBA, or automation tools is a strong advantage

- Comfortable working with large datasets, imperfect information, and deadlines

- Practical interest in AI and intelligent automation applied to real business problems
