Caterpillar Mining Finance is a globalteam within the Structured Finance business unit of Cat Financial andis responsible forfacilitatingthe mining equipment financing requirements of Caterpillar’s Resource Industry customersthrough the use ofstructured equipment finance and corporate debt facilities. Customers include global mining houses, mining servicesprovidersand junior/startup mining companies.
About the Position:
Based out of the Tullamarine office in Melbourne, the Credit & Operations Manageris responsible forleading the credit underwriting, loan origination, portfoliomanagementand operational processes that support CaterpillarFinancial'sbusiness across Australia and the Asia Pacific region. The role plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality credit decisions, effective portfolio oversight and operational excellence while balancing customer support, businessgrowthand risk managementobjectives
This position works closely withthe sales team and internal stakeholderstofacilitatesound credit decisions, manage portfolio performance and drive continuous improvement across operational processes.
Principle duties and Responsibilities:
Working independently and through a team, the role willbe responsible formanagingcredit underwriting, documentation, booking,collectionsand portfolio resolution activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the underwriting,creditanalysisand customer risk assessments.
Leading documentation and booking of transactions.
Monitoring portfolio performance,identifyingemerging credit risks and implementingappropriate mitigationstrategies.
Overseeing collection and portfolio resolution activities.
Driving operational excellence through process improvement initiatives, workflowoptimisationand strong governance practices.
Ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatoryrequirementsand internal control standards.
Partnering with business development teams to support profitable growth whilemaintainingan appropriate riskappetite.
Leading and developing a high-performing credit and operations team.
Key Skills Required:
Risk Management:Knowledge of processes, toolsand techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
Standard Operating Procedures:Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP); ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order toincrease operational efficiency.
Accuracy and Attention to Detail:Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levelsof precision.
Analytical Thinking:Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determinethe root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Financial Services Applications:Knowledge of a specific financial services application,associated systems and sub-systems; ability to use financial services applications for delivery of services to internal and external clients.
Financial Statement Analysis:Knowledge of financial statement and balance sheet; ability to analyzefinancial statement data anddeterminethecredit-worthinessof a business enterprise.
Knowledge of Loan Underwriting:Knowledge of loan underwriting activities, practicesand tools; ability toutilizeloan underwriting tools to implement, manage and improve the underwriting process for a financial institution.
Loan Origination:Knowledge of the skills, methods and technologies used to process new loan applications; ability to perform loan origination activities while adhering to establishedpolicies and procedures.
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:
A strong background in commercial credit, lending operations, portfoliomanagementand risk assessment is essential. The successful candidate willpossessexcellent analytical, leadership and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to manage complex credit structures and operational processes in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in equipment finance, commercial lending, structured finance,bankingor financial services will be highly regarded.
RequiredQualificationsand Experience
Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting,Economicsor related discipline.
Significant experiencein credit underwriting, loanoriginationand portfolio management.
Proven leadership experience managing teams and developing talent.
Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and credit risk assessment.
Experience managing collections, portfolioresolutionand risk mitigation activities.
Demonstrated ability to improve processes,controlsand operational efficiencies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to balance commercialobjectiveswith prudent risk management principles.
Experience within equipment finance, banking, assetfinanceor financial services preferred.

Working environment – 5 days in office
