Job Description

Join us as a Director – Credit Manager

  • You’ll provide strategic risk oversight, portfolio management across structured finance, corporate lending and financial institutions, shape the firm’s credit risk appetite and support key regulatory deliverables, while occasionally covering for the Head of Credit
  • You’ll represent Credit Risk at senior governance forums and contribute to the development of internal models, frameworks and governance standards
  • This role carries significant delegated authority and influence, with regular exposure to executive management, Board‑level forums and regulators

What you’ll do

You’ll lead the delivery of high‑quality, independent credit risk assessment and portfolio oversight across complex asset classes, ensuring disciplined underwriting and consistent decision‑making in line with risk appetite and regulatory expectations.

As a Director, you’ll act as a senior risk partner and leader, providing effective challenge, strategic insight and direction across transactions, portfolios and teams.

It’ll also be your responsibility to:

  • Lead and oversee credit analysis across Structured Finance (incl. Leveraged & Project Finance), Corporate Credit (IG & sub-IG), and Financial Institutions (banks, NBFIs, insurers, asset managers)
  • Deliver independent, high-quality credit opinions and approve proposals within delegated authority
  • Provide senior oversight and challenge on transaction structures, covenants, security packages, and financial projections; represent Credit Risk at senior forums
  • Develop team capability through mentoring junior credit officers
  • Support strategic and regulatory initiatives, including IRB model collaboration with Model Risk/Quant teams and ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance

The skills you’ll need

You’ll be an experienced senior credit professional with deep technical expertise, strong regulatory awareness and the credibility to operate effectively at executive and Board level.

We’ll also expect you to have:

  • 10+ years’ Credit Risk experience across Structured & Leveraged Finance (core), Corporate Lending, and Financial Institutions, with prior Credit Approval Authority in a senior role
  • Strong technical expertise in LMA/structured finance documentation, ISDA/CSA agreements, and credit risk modelling (PD, LGD, EAD, ratings) within Basel III/IV and IFRS 9 frameworks
  • Advanced analytical capability to assess complex financial models, transaction structures, and legal documentation
  • Proven senior stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex risk issues at Board level
  • Experienced leader with a collaborative yet decisive style, strong regulatory awareness (PRA, FCA, EBA, ECB), and a track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and developing high-performing teams
