Essential Job Duties

The Credit KYC Compliance Analyst is responsible for conducting due diligence on prospective and existing customers, suppliers, distributors, and other business counterparties. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct KYC and credit due diligence for new and existing commercial counterparties, including legal-entity verification, ownership analysis, and validation of authorized signatories.
  • Review corporate documentation, such as certificates of formation/incorporation, business registrations, tax documentation, ownership charts, shareholder registers, financial statements, bank references, trade references, and credit applications.
  • Identify and document ultimate beneficial owners, controlling persons, parent companies, affiliates, and complex ownership structures.
  • Perform sanctions, politically exposed person (PEP), watchlist, adverse-media, and other relevant compliance screenings; investigate potential matches and escalate credible concerns in accordance with internal policy.
  • Assess counterparty creditworthiness using financial statements, credit reports, payment history, trade references, industry conditions, country risk, liquidity indicators, leverage, profitability, and cash-flow trends.
  • Assign or support assignment of customer risk ratings based on credit, compliance, geographic, ownership, industry, and transaction-risk factors.
  • Conduct enhanced due diligence (EDD) for high-risk counterparties, including those involving high-risk jurisdictions, complex ownership, adverse media, sanctions exposure, unusual transaction structures, or elevated fraud concerns.
  • Review customers periodically and upon trigger events, including ownership changes, adverse credit developments, overdue balances, legal actions, material news, sanctions-list changes, or changes in business activity.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready KYC, credit, and screening documentation in designated systems and repositories.
  • Prepare concise written risk assessments and escalation memoranda that clearly state findings, risk factors, outstanding information, recommended action, and approval requirements.
  • Partner with Sales and commercial stakeholders to obtain required documentation without compromising compliance standards or onboarding controls.
  • Monitor regulatory and policy developments relevant to KYC, AML, sanctions, anti-bribery, data privacy, trade compliance, and commercial credit risk.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Risk Management, Compliance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial credit, KYC/AML, compliance, customer onboarding, financial analysis, corporate due diligence, or accounts receivable.
  • Ability to review corporate documents and identify beneficial ownership and control relationships.
  • Working knowledge of KYC/CDD, sanctions screening, adverse media, PEP review, and risk-based escalation.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and assess commercial credit risk.
  • Advanced Excel and strong proficiency with business systems and research tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, written communication, research, and analytical skills.
