Position Description

With supervision, The Credit Intern will support the Accounts Receivable Team. This position is responsible for accuracy of cash entries, contacting customers when past due and reviewing customer credit information. This position contributes to the overall effectiveness of the credit Dept.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure customer payments are received on time through account reconciliation on customer web sites and proactive review of invoice aging.
• Obtain supporting documentation required by customers to ensure on-time payment on open receivables.
• Assist in setting up customer master data in alignment with customer contractual terms.
• Manage the customer debit resolution process by proactively working with internal team members, Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Warranty, Plant Personnel, and others as applicable.
• Propose new customer credit limits and payment terms by analyzing credit worthiness and company stability through use of D&B reports, credit applications, purchase order reviews, and company financial statement analysis.
• Perform cash application and clearing entries daily.
• Assist in special projects as assigned.

Required Education & Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a degree through an accredited business program
• Accounting or comparable finance experience preferred
• Work effectively with internal and external peers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• SAP experience preferred
