Job Description

Location: Aylesford/Hybrid

Salary/package: £40,000 per annum (pro-rata for 6 months)

Contract type: 6 month Fixed Term Contract

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Why this role matters

This role is responsible for leading our Credit Control function and ensuring the effective collection of outstanding debt across multiple divisions. You'll play a critical role in maintaining healthy cash flow, supporting strategic business objectives and driving continuous improvement across finance operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading and developing a team of Credit Controllers & Cash Allocators to deliver high performance and excellent customer service
  • Managing team workloads and resources to maximise cash collection and reduce aged debt
  • Acting as an escalation point for complex customer queries, disputes and debt-related issues
  • Building strong relationships with business leaders to support working capital objectives
  • Producing and analysing management information, KPIs and performance reports
  • Identifying risks and opportunities that impact cash flow and debt recovery
  • Driving process improvements, automation initiatives and operational efficiencies
  • Monitoring compliance controls relating to customer account setup and maintenance
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing team members through regular performance management activities
  • Supporting wider Finance Operations initiatives and business transformation programmes

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience managing a Credit Control or Accounts Receivable team within a large organisation
  • Strong understanding of debt collection, cash flow management and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Advanced Excel and reporting skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Experience producing KPIs, management information and financial performance reports
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior level
  • Experience leading teams through change and process improvement initiatives
  • Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
