Job Description

Reporting directly to the Deal Facilitation Manager, the Credit Administrator will be located in South Africa and will be responsible for Southern Africa and East Africa regions. The role will be responsible for checking the credit application packs for completeness and accuracy, capturing of anti-money laundering rating and ensuring the business partner information is all completed and up to date in the ERP system (SAP). The ideal candidate must have a high level of administrative skills, be an excellent communicator, and have a pro-active and positive attitude towards improvements of our processes and to ensure accurate financial data and reports.

Job Responsibilities

  • Scrutinizing of credit application packs for completeness
  • Scrutinising of SFZ applications for completeness
  • Credit bureau checks on all new and existing clients, owners, and sureties
  • Anti-money laundering searches on all new and existing clients
  • Capturing of anti-money laundering rating (low, medium, high) after sign-off by management
  • Verification of client’s information on SAP business partner profile
  • Creation of business partner profile for new clients, owners, and sureties
  • Capturing of financial statements n SAP business partner profile
  • Obtain exposures from Scania South Africa on repair and maintenance, export/trade facilities
  • Verification of FICA/KYC documents and capturing in SAP
  • Maintenance of business partner system in SAP to ensure quality information captured
  • Creation of groups in business partner system in SAP and monthly report to credit controllers
  • Creation of loan facilities in SAP system

Applicant must meet these minimum requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification applicable for the position
  • Minimum of 5 years of asset-based finance experience, or experience at another financial institution
  • Experience in the field of credit assessment, credit control, and arrears management essential.
  • Fluent in English

Core competencies and personality traits:

  • Highly motivated, and disciplined.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
  • Must be domestically secure to enable extended working hours and travels to the countries in the Scania Finance SA market.
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of administration skills, as well as ability to communicate effectively via written and electronic media
  • Able to work under pressure when needed.
