The Credentialing Applications Analyst is responsible for advancing the functionality and operational efficiency of assigned information systems and solutions. This entails analysis, design and development of new software modules and processes; advising, assisting, and training customers in the operation and administration of the systems; and collaborating with customers to enhance their work methodologies and tools. The Credentialing Applications Analyst is charged with ensuring the services that he/she provides contribute to the successful accomplishment of the primary mission of the department. The Credentialing Applications Analyst possesses sufficient technical expertise to support an assigned application, but may be called upon to assist with multiple applications. The Credentialing Applications Analyst supports the project management activities required to deliver valuable relevant solutions and assists in the development of project schedules, plans and timelines. The Credentialing Applications Analyst reports directly to the Manager, while receiving leadership from Director.

The Applications Analyst applies skills, in line with MH’s values and goals, to assure the efficient, effective and consistent delivery of high quality services. The Applications Analyst is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to the values of the corporation through active participation in the Partners In Caring, Customer Service and Continuous Quality Improvement programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Associate's degree or three (3) years of advanced credentialing software experience.

Licenses/Certifications: MSOW-C preferred.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

  • Credentialing software training and increasingly responsible experience with knowledge and skills in a large, complex corporate credentialing system.

  • Basic working knowledge of credentialing application support, development tools, and methodologies.

  • Experience with development and implementation of activities in a system-wide credentialing related to system analysis, design, building, and testing.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Project Planning – With moderate supervision by Manager, sets priorities, understands business and clinical applications, answers technical questions and performs all assigned tasks. Reason: To ensure the efficient and effective support of information systems for MHHS.

  • Applications Development – Uses PC system development tools to develop and deploy queries, simple applications, moderately complex reports and other business solutions. Reason: To provide the technical know-how required to satisfy customer requirements for enhanced system functionality.

  • Analysis/Design – Translates customer requests into software application solution specifications, appropriate to assigned tasks. Reason: To implement business innovation that produces sustainable competitive advantage for MHHS.

  • Technical Administration - Maintains detailed technical knowledge of assigned applications. Reason: To demonstrate current knowledge of services and applications and ensure accurate support of user requests and concerns.

  • Communications - Thinks, plans, leads and acts appropriately in tactical settings. Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills. Reason: To accurately and properly assess the information needs of others and ensure expert and timely collection, analysis, and dissemination of knowledge.

  • Problem Solving - Identifies issues and concerns and communicates them to Team Lead and/or Manager as appropriate. Develops options and recommendations. Reason: To quickly resolve operational problems and questions and minimize impact on end-user productivity and overall impact to organization.

  • Application Support - Assists customers with optimizing their use of assigned applications and specific project-driven tasks. Participates in after-hours application support on an as needed basis . Reason: To improve and ensure the continued maximum effective operational efficiency of MH’s credentialing software.

  • Customer Service – Provides training, support, and problem resolution to customers. Reason: To sustain a commitment to excellent customer service and ensure the full potential of the technology is achieved.

  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.

  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
