Job Description
Tailor Brands is a platform that builds businesses – from launch to growth and everything in between. Our “Guidance Engine” creates a personalized plan for every new business, simplifying the process of starting, managing, and scaling. We don’t just give you tools – we guide you through the journey of building a successful business.
As a hyper-growth company at the forefront of the DIY SMB space, we’re laser-focused on user acquisition through discovery channels, driven by highly creative and data-backed campaigns.
We’re looking for a Creative & Studio Director to lead our in-house creative engine – a multidisciplinary team of video editors, marketing designers, and producers. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of performance-driven creativity, data fluency, and production excellence.
You’ll own the development, production, and execution of high-performing creative assets across channels, with a strong focus on discovery platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Meta, and beyond). From concept to delivery, you’ll oversee a team that ideates, scripts, shoots, edits, and tests creative that not only captures attention but converts.
If you're a creative visionary with a knack for operational efficiency and a deep understanding of performance marketing, this is your chance to scale a studio that drives measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the Creative Studio team, including video editors, motion designers, producers, and marketing designers.
- Act as a player-coach: personally concept, script, and edit a meaningful share of the studio’s output – especially at crunch times. You add execution capacity, not just direction and feedback.
- Own the creative roadmap end to end: commit to timelines for strategic initiatives (new formats, creator/UGC programs, new channels) and deliver on them – flagging risks early, not late.
- Manage team performance actively: set clear output targets per team member, manage capacity and workload allocation, and address underperformance promptly through a structured improvement process.
- Keep the studio fully staffed: own hiring for the team and close open roles within company time-to-hire benchmarks.
- Run the full creative pipeline (briefs, in production, delivered) in a single shared system that gives UA, Brand, and leadership full visibility.
- Be a responsive hub for partner teams – fast, reliable turnaround on requests from HR department and others
- Be accountable for delivering creative assets for internal employee events and company-wide design requests – on time and to brand standards.
- Oversee both creative development and production operations, including in-house shoots, post-production workflows, and vendor management.
- Partner with UA, Brand, Product Marketing, and Data teams to develop breakthrough performance creatives for acquisition campaigns.
- Manage the full lifecycle of creative assets – from briefing and scripting to production, editing, versioning, and post-launch analysis.
- Build and optimize repeatable processes for creative testing, performance tracking, and rapid iteration.
- Use performance data to drive creative strategy, decision-making, and continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of creative experimentation and innovation across storytelling formats and platforms.
- Maintain the highest standards for storytelling, production quality, and brand consistency.
- Aim for a high pace and a high performing team that runs creative at scale with 25+ creative deliverables every week.
- Utilize AI and other advanced methods of creation and operations to hit weekly targets.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in creative leadership roles, ideally in performance-focused environments (e.g., DTC, consumer tech, or growth marketing).
- Deep understanding of the creative demands of user acquisition on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Meta, and other discovery channels.
- Proven experience managing and scaling internal creative and production teams.
- Strong operational background in managing in-house shoots and post-production workflows.
- Hands-on experience with AI, video and design tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Figma).
- Sharp analytical skills – comfortable interpreting data and turning insights into creative direction.
- Ability to lead with vision, build scalable creative operations, and move fast without sacrificing quality.
- Strong cross-functional communication and project management skills.
- A portfolio of recent work you personally created, not only work produced by your team.
- Proven track record of managing underperformers through to resolution and hiring at pace.
- Experience running creative-ops tooling (e.g., Monday, Asana, Air) to manage a high-volume creative pipeline.
Bonus Points:
- Experience working in collaboration with growth and media buying teams.
- Familiarity with A/B testing, creative analytics platforms, and performance dashboards.
- Passion for storytelling, branding, and experimentation at the speed of performance marketing.
