Reporting to the Head of Skills and Professional Development, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting Creatives, Creative Entrepreneurs and Creative Organisations to develop their capabilities, careers, creative practice and long-term sustainability within Ireland’s screen sector.
The role requires a strong understanding of creative environments and the needs of creative practitioners, combined with expertise in programme development, learning and professional development, partnership building and project delivery. Working across the creative screen ecosystem, the postholder will translate sectoral insight, emerging needs and creative and technological developments into high-impact learning initiatives, funding programmes, strategic projects and collaborative interventions.
Working closely with Production, Development and Distribution, and other Screen Ireland teams including Legal & Business Affairs, Inward Development, Marketing & Communications and IT, the postholder will ensure Skills initiatives are informed by and responsive to the evolving needs of creative practitioners and the wider screen sector. The postholder will manage and continuously develop a portfolio of existing programmes and initiatives, including Section 481 and 487A Skills Development Plans, the Screen Stakeholders Scheme, Skills Development Events funding and other priority programmes. They will also contribute to the development of new initiatives and partnerships in response to identified creative, professional and workforce development needs.
The role combines creative sector understanding, strategic thinking, programme and project management, stakeholder engagement and innovation. The postholder will contribute to the continuous improvement of the Skills function through effective use of technology, robust evaluation, evidence-informed practice and contemporary approaches to learning, professional development and workforce development.
The successful candidate will also support Creatives, Creative Entrepreneurs and Creative Organisations in navigating emerging technologies, evolving business models and changing approaches to developing, producing, distributing and engaging audiences with screen content, while promoting an inclusive, sustainable and human-centred approach to sector development.
The Skills and Professional Development Department offers a wide range of sectoral initiatives, funding support and learning programmes to support individuals at every stage in their career and to enable the long-term development of a flourishing, sustainable Screen sector.
We support the National Talent Academy network across Ireland and many sectoral initiatives, including projects on: AI, Competency Frameworks, Crew and Services Database, Gender, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity (GEDI), Engaging the Next Generation, Recognition of Prior Learning, Safe to Create, Sustainability and Work-Life balance. We also provide funding for Bursaries, Skills Development Events, and larger Learning Initiatives through our Screen Stakeholders Scheme, as well as for innovative projects through our Innovation in Story-Telling Fund. Our offering includes short courses, online modules, shadowing, mentoring, work placements, certificates, and diplomas.
A key programme is our support and administration of the Section 481 and 487A Skills Development Plans from initial conversations, to review and approval of learning plans, to sign off on the final compliance reports. We also run an accredited work-based learning programme for new entrants, Passport to Production, with other schemes under development. We have recently completed a suite of Competency Frameworks for the sector, with two new frameworks underway.
As the Sector faces a changing landscape of new technologies, business models and ways of interacting with, viewing and creating content, we are working to support the Sector to succeed in the short-term, as well as to find new ways ahead, working towards long-term success and ensuring a sustainable, inclusive, human-centric future.
It is anticipated that in order to have the required skills and competencies, the Engineer Grade II & Professional Accountant Grade II post will be at the First Point level.
The role reports to the Head of Skills and Professional Development and may evolve in line with organisational priorities. The role will work with internal stakeholders to ensure effective coordination, communication, and delivery of executive priorities. Reporting arrangements may be reviewed periodically to reflect organisational needs.

Ní chuirfear iarrthóirí nach bhfreagraíonn na ceisteanna riachtanacha ina litir chumhdaigh ar an ngearrliosta.
Féadfaidh Fís Éireann, i gcás inar gá, próiseas gearrliostaithe a chur i bhfeidhm chun an líon iarrthóirí a théann ar aghaidh chuig céim an agallaimh a bhainistiú. Cé gur féidir go gcomhlíonfaidh iarrthóirí na critéir incháilitheachta shonraithe, is féidir nach mbeidh sé praiticiúil gach duine a ghlao ar aghaidh le haghaidh measúnú mar gheall ar an líon iarratas.
Sna himthosca sin, beidh an gearrliostú bunaithe ar an bhfaisnéis a sholáthraíonn tú i do litir chumhdaigh agus curriculum vitae, agus ar fhreagraí ar na ceisteanna a leagtar amach sa sainchuntas poist. Cuirfear béim ar leith ar conas a léiríonn iarrthóirí na croí‑inniúlachtaí is gá, mar a leagtar amach i gCreat Inniúlachta na Seirbhíse um Cheapacháin Phoiblí, i dteannta aon tréithe inmhianaithe a sainaithníodh don ról.
Ceapadh an próiseas sin le go sainaithneofar na hiarrthóirí sin is mó a thagann le riachtanais an róil, bunaithe ar an bhfianaise a sholáthair siad ina n‑iarratas. Ní thugtar le fios leis sin go bhfuil iarrthóirí eile mí‑oiriúnach nó nach féidir leo tabhairt faoin ról; ina ionad sin, cinntítear leis sin go dtugtar cuireadh chun agallaimh dóibh sin ar cosúil go bhfuil ailíniú a gcuid cáilíochtaí, taithí agus inniúlachta ar an ailíniú is ábhartha.
Is féidir go n‑áireofar ceann amháin nó níos mó de na céimeanna seo a leanas sa phróiseas roghnúcháin do róil laistigh d’Fhís Éireann:
I gcás iarrthóirí dár tugadh cuireadh páirt a ghlacadh in aon chéim den phróiseas, soláthrófar sonraí iomlána dóibh roimh ré. Is faoi na hiarrthóirí atá sé a chinntiú go mbeidh a gcuid sonraí teagmhála cruinn agus cothrom le dáta.
Má thugtar cuireadh chun agallaimh nó measúnaithe duit agus mura bhfuil tú in ann freastal air ag an tráth sonraithe, is féidir nach mbeifear in ann athsceidealú, agus is féidir go measfar gur tarraingíodh d’iarratas siar ón gcomórtas.
Féadfar painéal iarrthóirí rathúla a bhunú agus a choinneáil ar feadh tréimhse suas le bliain amháin ó dháta an cheapacháin. Nuair a rachaidh an painéal in éag, déanfar aon fholúntais a thiocfaidh chun cinn ina dhiaidh sin a athfhógairt i gcomhréir le beartais agus nósanna imeachta earcaíochta Fhís Éireann.
Chun cothroime agus comhsheasmhacht a chinntiú, moltar do na hiarrthóirí uile a gcuid freagraí iarratais agus agallaimh a struchtúrú agus úsáid á baint as an modh STAR:
Le linn an phróisis roghnúcháin, déanfar measúnú ar na hiarrthóirí in aghaidh na gCroí-Inniúlachtaí a leagtar amach i gCreat Inniúlachta na Seirbhíse um Cheapacháin Phoiblí don ghrád ábhartha. Molaimid go mór d’iarrthóirí:
Faoi réir fhorálacha an Achta um Shaoráil Faisnéise, 2014, déileálfar le hiarratais faoi rún daingean.
Déanfar sonraí pearsanta a phróiseáil i gcomhréir lenár bhFógra Príobháideachais d’Fhostaithe.
Is fostóir comhdheiseanna é Fís Éireann agus tá sé tiomanta ionad oibre cuimsitheach a chothú a chuireann luach ar éagsúlacht na foirne oibre agus a bhaineann tairbhe as an éagsúlacht chéanna. Tá Fís Éireann faoi choimirce na Roinne Cultúir, Cumarsáide agus Spóirt.
Tá Fís Éireann tiomanta do rath an tionscail amach anseo trí infheistíochtaí straitéiseacha i dtallann agus scileanna a bhfuil éagsúlacht, cothromas agus ionchuimsiú ina gcroílár. Tuigimid go bhfuil sé ríthábhachtach cultúr dearfach a chothú, agus luachanna cothroime, inbhuanaitheachta, éagsúlachta, cothromais agus ionchuimsitheachta mar bhonn agus mar thaca aige, chun tallann a mhealladh agus a choinneáil.
Mar eagraíocht ionchuimsitheach, oibrímid go gníomhach i dtreo éagsúlacht agus ionchuimsiú a chur chun cinn ar fud na hearnála scáileáin ar fad. Cinntíonn ár gcur chuige ionchuimsitheach maidir le hacmhainn a thógáil go bhfuil gach tionscnamh deartha le go mbeidh sé inrochtana do chách, rud a léiríonn ár dtiomantas do thionscal éagsúil agus cothrom. Inár ngníomhaíochtaí earcaíochta, tugaimid tús áite d'fhórsa saothair a chruthú a léiríonn éagsúlacht agus comhionannas, ag leagan síos tagarmharc nua le haghaidh barr feabhais agus uilechuimsitheachta. Cuireann Fís Éireann fáilte roimh chách a bheith linn ar an aistear seo i dtreo tionscal scáileáin a mhúnlú a cheiliúrann tallann chomhchoiteann agus an neart atá le fáil san éagsúlacht.

Trínár bPlean Inbhuanaitheachta Cineálta, troidimid ar son cleachtais atá freagrach ó thaobh an chomhshaoil de inár gcuid oibríochtaí laethúla, tacaímid le táirgeadh inbhuanaithe trí thionscnaimh mhaoiniúcháin agus tionscail agus molaimid dár bhfoireann agus dár gcomhpháirtithe an tionchar ar an gcomhshaol a laghdú.
