About NBAT2

NBAT2 is redefining basketball culture at the intersection of gaming, entertainment, and digital experiences. We exist off the court, inside the culture, bringing fans into the action in ways never seen before. From high-energy digital content to real-world activations, we’re building a new kind of entertainment brand where gaming isn’t just part of the experience—it is the experience.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an ambitious, proactive, and basketball-obsessed Creative Producer to drive the development and production of YouTube content across NBAT2’s YouTube channels, @NBA2KL and @NBAT2. Positioned at the intersection of sports media, culture, gaming, and entertainment, this role serves as the primary bridge between creative vision, talent direction, and field/studio execution.

The Creative Producer will own assigned projects from concept through final delivery, developing new series as well as producing established original programming. This person will combine deep NBA knowledge with rigorous preparation, strong creative instincts, and the ability to direct small crews and high-profile talent in fast-moving production environments.

The role requires the versatility to move between the off-the-court, documentary-focused storytelling of @NBAT2 and the gaming-focused content of @NBA2KL.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Development, Pitching & Pre-Production

  • In-Depth Talent & Subject Research: Conduct research on featured NBA players, talent, and guest celebrities to develop compelling narrative arcs and highly personalized interview prompts for new and established series.
  • Creative & Production Preparation: Develop detailed creative briefs, ROSs, production beat sheets, interview guides, and contingency plans that clearly communicate the creative vision and set the production up for success. Anticipate potential on-set variables and prepare multiple creative approaches when needed.
  • Pitching & Development: Pitch original content ideas and conceive, draft, and present structured development briefs for prospective YouTube series, formats, and packaging strategies.

On-Set Directing, Crew Leadership & Talent Management

  • Field & Studio Directing: Act as the primary on-set director for studio and field shoots, leading small production crews across camera, audio, and lighting to efficiently capture the creative and story needs of each production.
  • Talent Direction & Rapport: Direct NBA players, celebrities, and digital creators on set, creating a comfortable and dynamic environment that draws out engaging, candid, and entertaining moments.
  • Real-Time Basketball Dialogue: Direct unscripted and interactive formats using deep league and roster knowledge to challenge trade logic, question roster builds, and spark authentic basketball conversation and banter in real time.
  • On-Set Time Management: Keep shoots on schedule while prioritizing critical story beats, creative objectives, and shot-list needs in fast-paced production environments.
  • Creative Flexibility: Read the room and adapt narrative direction or production plans when unexpected talent dynamics, production challenges, or spontaneous moments create new creative opportunities.

YouTube Programming & Post-Production Oversight

  • Post-Production Oversight: Collaborate closely with video editors and the creative team to shape final edits for YouTube-first viewing, with an emphasis on strong hooks, effective pacing, compelling storytelling, and viewer retention.
  • End-to-End Project Ownership: Manage multiple projects across varying stages of development, production, post-production, final delivery, and publishing setup.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for assigned projects across internal creative, production management, social, branding, and talent teams to maintain alignment and ensure smooth asset delivery.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Deep Basketball Knowledge: Authentic and extensive understanding of the NBA, including current players and personalities, team rosters, trade and cap logic, league history, and modern basketball culture.
  • Production & Directing Experience: 3+ years of digital media experience as a Creative Producer, Field Producer, or in a comparable role, ideally within sports, culture, or digital entertainment.
  • Crew & Talent Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading small studio or field crews and directing athletes, celebrities, creators, or other high-profile talent on set.
  • Rigorous Preparation: Proven ability to translate creative concepts into organized, production-ready plans and anticipate contingencies before and during shoots.
  • YouTube Fluency: Demonstrated understanding of YouTube-first programming, including video packaging, audience retention, hooks, pacing, and digital storytelling conventions.
  • Multi-Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across development, production, and post-production while maintaining creative quality and organization.
  • Gaming Culture Affinity: Familiarity with video game culture and the NBA 2K ecosystem is preferred; a strong willingness to develop deeper knowledge of the space is essential.
