Brand, Marketing & Communications – Creative Studio

Duration: 20-25 weeks, starting 1 September 2026

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on Creative Design Intern to join our Brand, Marketing & Communications (BMC) department. This is a Meewerkstage (hands-on internship). This is an opportunity to grow your design skills in a fast-paced, creative environment, working on real projects for one of the most recognisable brands in the Netherlands. If you’re passionate about visual storytelling, digital design, and bringing ideas to life through strong visuals, this internship will give you hands-on experience with a wide variety of creative productions, based on ING’s brand identity.

About the Opportunity

The Creative Studio develops high-quality creative content for ING’s internal and external audiences. From digital ads and social designs to motion graphics, video content, and presentation materials, the studio plays a key role in shaping the brand experience.

As an intern, you will work with the creative team on translating briefs into clear, engaging, and on-brand visual content across different, mostly digital channels.

Roles and Responsibilities

Design & Content Creation

  • Collaborate with the team on creating visuals for social media, online campaigns, presentations, and internal communications.
  • Work on image editing, retouching, layout design, and visual storytelling.
  • Support the development of simple motion graphics or video edits.
  • Prepare visual assets for various platforms and formats.

Creative Development & Brand Support

  • Help brainstorm and develop creative concepts based on creative briefs.
  • Participate in ideation sessions and contribute fresh ideas.
  • Work closely with copywriters, videographers, producers, and designers to deliver on-brand content.

What You Will Learn

  • How to design within a large global brand environment.
  • How creative workflows are managed within a professional studio.
  • How to adapt design work for different channels and audiences.
  • How to present, revise, and deliver design work professionally.

Objectives

By the end of your internship, you will:

  • Understand how a Creative Studio collaborates within a Brand, Marketing & Communications department.
  • Feel confident delivering creative productions in a professional setting.
  • Be able to create on-brand visual content.

How to Succeed

We value creativity, curiosity, and initiative. You’ll be encouraged to develop your skills with support from the team.

Preferred background:

  • Enrolled at a Dutch HBO or university in the area of Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Creative Business, Media, or similar.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects.
  • Bonus: familiarity with Figma.
  • Strong eye for layout, colour, imagery, and visual storytelling.
  • Eager to learn.

Rewards and benefits
This is a great opportunity to train with highly skilled people who are experts in their field. You’ll do a lot and learn a lot – not only about your specialist area and the bank, but also about yourself and whether this type of environment is right for you.

You’ll also benefit from:

  • Internship allowance of 700 EUR based on 36 hours work week

  • Your own work laptop

  • Hybrid working to blend home working for focus and office working for collaboration and co-creation

  • Personal growth and challenging work with endless possibilities

  • An informal working environment with innovative colleagues

During the duration of your internship at ING, it is mandatory to be enrolled at a Dutch university (or EU-university for EU passport holders).
