We are looking for a crane operator who enjoys hands-on field work and does not want to be limited to a single machine.

In this role, you will be at the heart of the operations within our Sorel yard team and will actively participate in the entire material flow. You will operate the crane, but also other heavy equipment depending on daily needs (loader, forklift, etc.).

This is a highly versatile, active, and physically demanding role. The work also includes manual metal sorting and outdoor physical tasks, in addition to equipment operation. A significant portion of the job is performed on the field, in motion, and in collaboration with the team.

What you will be responsible for :

  • Operate the crane and participate in general yard activities
  • Sort and identify metals (tests, magnets, etc.) and assess non-recyclable materials
  • Receive, unload, and route metals to the appropriate areas
  • Inspect and verify the quality of incoming and handled materials
  • Transport and organize non-ferrous material bins on site
  • Operate different equipment (crane, loader, forklift as needed)
  • Load ferrous materials destined for clients
  • Perform manual tasks related to daily operations (sorting, handling, and organizing materials)

Qualifications

To join our team :

  • You have experience operating heavy equipment (crane, loader, or equivalent)
  • You are comfortable working in a physical outdoor environment
  • You have strong teamwork skills and adaptability to changing priorities
  • You have a strong safety mindset (Health & Safety oriented)
  • You are proactive and hands-on in your approach
  • You have a valid Class 5 driver’s license (strong asset)
  • You have experience in scrap yard or recycling operations (strong asset)
