Job Description

Engineer is to be cognizant of the structural, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical equipment used in lifting and handling with specific responsibility for all overhead, portal and mobile cranes.

Responsibilities to include resolution of technical problems, recommending design changes, vendor liaison and input of procedures and technical support to department repair and test personnel in order to support production operations.

Requires an individual with a strong systems background to initiate and coordinate any studies to improve equipment, operating methods, expand existing hardware utilization and development of any new hardware required.

The individual must be capable of climbing to 150 foot levels above ground and feel comfortable working at this height. This job also requires field work in all climate conditions.

This position is on-site Monday - Friday with core hours between 6:00AM - 4:00PM. Occasional off hour and on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Structural Engineering

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of experience working with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic components
  • Mechanical background plus working experience with cranes

Skills

  • Capable of making technical presentations and be able to work with shipyard management personnel
