The Craft Safety Technician is responsible for ensuring safety compliance at the job site by performing inspections, conducting safety training, and promoting safe work practices among craft personnel. This role serves as an important link between the safety management team and field operations, facilitating communication and collaboration to achieve safety excellence.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in developing and delivering safety training programs for craft personnel.
  • Promote a culture of safety by actively engaging with employees in discussions about safe work practices.
  • Document and report safety observations, incidents, and near misses, following up on corrective actions.
  • Work closely with the safety management team to update safety protocols and processes as needed.
  • Participate in safety meetings and share valuable insights to improve safety performance.
  • Support the implementation of job safety analyses (JSAs) and ensure they are maintained and followed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a safety-related role within the construction or power delivery industry.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and general construction safety practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with craft personnel effectively.
  • Ability to identify hazards and provide practical solutions to promote a safe work environment.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred; must obtain within 60 days of hire if not already certified.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel to different job sites as needed.
