Job Description

We are looking for CPU architecture research interns. Interns will participate in research in hardware design in various topics related to computer arithmetic, AI accelerator architecture, and compute-in-memory. Interns will have opportunities to collaborate with senior CPU architects and researchers and to publish research results at top-tier computer conferences. The research will be focused on the following areas:

• AI accelerator architecture
• Computer arithmetic
• Compute-in-memory

Responsibilities include writing a research proposal, performing synthesis, place and route in SKY130 technology using Openlane, generating custom cells using MAGIC, and writing RAM/ROM compilers for use in the Openlane flow.

Qualifications/Requirements:


• Students in computer engineering, computer science or related fields – PhD preferred
• Experience with Openlane using SKY130 technology.
• Experience using MAGIC.
• Experience writing RAM/ROM compilers.
• Experience with scripting languages
• Research experience in publishing conference or journal papers in the computer architecture or related fields
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter, who can deliver outcome independently and in a team environment
• Experience in using industry-standard synthesis, place and route, and layout tools (plus).
• Knowledge of AI architecture and trends in the field, especially in compute-in-memory designs (plus).
