This leader will oversee and expand a high-performing engineering team responsible for key CPU development functions including pre-silicon validation, structural design, design automation (DA), Design-for-Test (DFT), and additional design disciplines as the organization continues to scale.

As the Bangalore Site Lead, you will play a critical role in shaping Intel's next generation CPU products that power the world's most advanced client, edge, and data center computing solutions. You will be responsible for building organizational capability, driving execution excellence, developing technical talent, and partnering closely with global engineering teams to deliver innovative, high-performance CPU designs.

The successful candidate will combine strong people leadership, technical depth in silicon design, and the ability to influence cross-functional organizations across multiple geographies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day execution of complex, high-performance CPU design and development activities.
  • Manage and grow a multidisciplinary engineering organization spanning pre-silicon validation, structural design, design automation, DFT, and related CPU design functions.
  • Develop organizational capability and hiring strategies to support roadmap growth and long-term scaling objectives.
  • Drive execution excellence, ensuring predictable delivery of quality designs that meet performance, power, area, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Partner with architecture, RTL design, verification, physical design, post-silicon validation, and product engineering teams to deliver industry-leading CPU products.
  • Participate in CPU roadmap planning, resource planning, and long-term organizational strategy.
  • Identify and remove execution barriers while proactively managing technical and organizational risks.
  • Build strong partnerships across global design sites and foster effective cross-geography collaboration.
  • Establish a culture of innovation, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop engineering leaders and technical contributors to strengthen organizational depth and succession pipelines.
  • Represent the Bangalore site within broader CPU leadership forums and contribute to strategic decision-making across the organization.
  • Drive operational excellence through data-driven management, process improvements, and engineering best practices.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 12+ years of semiconductor industry experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in direct engineering management.
  • In-depth knowledge of silicon design principles, methodologies, and development flows.
  • Demonstrated track record of scaling and leading organizations consisting of 50 to 100+ engineers across multiple functional domains including RTL design, verification, physical design, and DFT.
  • Proven ability to build career development frameworks, manage succession planning, and maintain strong employee retention across highly competitive talent markets.
  • Successful delivery of multiple SoC and/or IP programs from architecture through tapeout and high-volume production ramp on leading-edge process technologies.
  • Strong organizational leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience driving execution across complex, cross-functional engineering organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven success working collaboratively across cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality CPU and SoC products.
  • Extensive physical design experience involving high-performance and high-speed silicon implementations across multiple process technologies.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience leading geographically distributed engineering hubs and global development teams.
  • Deep understanding of industry-standard EDA tools, design methodologies, and vendor ecosystems.
  • CPU microarchitecture knowledge and hands-on experience with CPU design and development.
  • Strong business and organizational acumen with experience balancing technical, people, and execution priorities.
  • Passion for advancing semiconductor technology and contributing to industry-defining computing solutions.
  • Experience building and scaling new site capabilities while maintaining strong engineering culture and employee engagement.
