Job Description

INNOVIM is seeking support for NOAA’s Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR) Climate Program Office (CPO) Climate and Societal Interactions Adaptation Sciences (AdSci) and Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessments (RISA) offices.

Location: Based out of Silver Spring, MD

Remote/Telework: Remote (Hybrid and in-person as required)

The candidate will:

  • Serve as the AdSci and CSI interface with CPO’s communications team.
  • Develop, manage, and update content for the program’s website to better communicate the program’s activities and research outcomes with the public.
  • Communicate and facilitate the integration of CSI-funded investigators’ research results into priority NOAA activities and products.
  • Provide knowledge management and other tracking functions for program development and management activities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute meetings, webinars, workshops, and other communications and engagement activities, including pre-meeting logistics, scheduling, preparation, agenda development and post-meeting summaries, and action tracking.
  • Organize and facilitate grant proposal review panels, and monitor funded research project progress by collecting, reviewing, and archiving project reports. Coordinate, arrange, and track the disbursement of honoraria.
  • Track and administer funded research projects by maintaining comprehensive and accurate records tracking and reporting project accomplishments and evolving partner priorities and capabilities.
  • Collaborate within CSI, CPO, and other relevant offices to integrate research and coordinate activities, including meetings and communication.
  • Develop and coordinate communications and creation of programmatic materials/products, presentations, website content, newsletters, briefing materials, and impact stories, including data science activities to enhance knowledge management. Develop, manage, and update content for the program’s website to better communicate the program’s activities and research outcomes with the public.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute RISA outreach and engagement activities, including meetings, conferences, workshops, and webinars, with pre-event logistics, scheduling, preparation, agenda development, and post-meeting summaries and action tracking.
  • Write and publicize major accomplishments and activities by liaising with NOAA, OAR, and CPO Communications, OAR communications office, and other Line Offices.
  • Communicate with funded investigators; coordinate RISA monthly calls; ensure compliance with required reporting, collect, organize, and archive required reporting, and respond to information requests.
  • Track and administer funded research projects by maintaining comprehensive and accurate records by tracking and reporting project accomplishments and evolving partner priorities and capabilities.
  • Organize research material for effective RISA knowledge management, including creating and maintaining a database of funded projects/activities, results, and impact.
  • Analyze and synthesize RISA projects and activities to identify and highlight approaches used, accomplishments, impacts, and opportunities for cross-regional connection.
  • Organize and facilitate proposal review panels and RISA review processes for competitive and non-competitive funding. Coordinate, arrange, and track the disbursement of honoraria.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute RISA network meetings, workshops, webinars, and other engagement activities, including pre-event logistics, scheduling, preparation, agenda development, and post-meeting summaries and action tracking.
  • Organize and coordinate convenings of experts and their regional partners, and facilitate the efficient exchange of information. Submit meeting agendas and meeting minutes for each event.
  • Identify opportunities for RISA teams’ alignment, collaboration, and scalability across regional networks of partners and activities through monthly convening of researchers to share information.
