Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.
The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.
The Role
You’ll sit at the centre of Brent’s new CPMO, providing essential administrative and coordination support across major programmes and projects.
You’ll:
This isn’t general administration — it’s structured programme support that keeps corporate change moving.
You’ll help ensure information is accurate, accessible and audit-ready, giving senior leaders confidence in what they are reviewing and approving.
Why this role matters
Every transformation programme depends on strong foundations.
Behind every successful board meeting, every accurate report, and every well-managed risk register is someone making sure the detail is right.
Brent is establishing a Corporate Programme Management Office (CPMO) to strengthen how change is delivered across the council. The CPMO Support Officer plays a vital role in ensuring governance runs smoothly, information is accurate, and programme teams can focus on delivery.
Without strong coordination and control, even the best strategies can stall. This role ensures structure, discipline and clarity across Brent’s change portfolio.
The Person
This role suits someone who thrives on organisation and precision.
You’ll bring:
You may already have experience in a PMO, project support, or governance environment — or you may have strong administrative experience and an interest in programme management.
Most importantly, you understand that strong administration underpins successful delivery.
