About this role:

The Chief Operating Office Technology (COO Tech) organization, provides technology services for the Chief Operating Office. This includes operations, control executives, strategic execution, business continuity and resiliency, data solutions and services, regulatory relations, customer experience, enterprise shared services, supply chain management, and the corporate properties group. COO Technology provides technology solutions and manages application portfolios for these groups to support modernization and optimization. CAO Technology is the dedicated technology team supporting Corporate Properties, Corporate Security, Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Resiliency, Privacy, CAO Data and Insights technology needs.

Within COO Technology we are seeking a Lead Specialty SAP Software Engineer Configurator to join the CAO (Chief Administration Office) Technology team to support Corporate Properties Group (CPG) aligned to the CAO. This role will design, develop and perform engineering solutions on computer hardware, software, and networking tools to meet the organization's needs.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex, enterprise-wide initiatives by defining strategy, evaluating options, and delivering scalable, long‑term solutions aligned with business objectives, governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Serve as a trusted SAP Real Estate (S/4HANA RE‑FX / CLREM) subject matter expert, providing best‑practice guidance, supporting FASB 842 & IFRS 16 compliance, and leading or supporting Business Partner (BP) conversions during S/4HANA transformations.
  • Design and architect end‑to‑end SAP solutions including business workflows, data flow models, APIs, BAPIs, reports, and integrations across SAP modules, internal systems, SaaS platforms, and external partners.
  • Perform hands‑on functional engineering by designing, configuring, testing, debugging, documenting, and supporting SAP functionality, integrations, reports, and Embedded IT controls.
  • Lead integration design and delivery, including synchronous/asynchronous patterns, data transformations, resiliency, and troubleshooting complex cross‑application integration issues.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, translate business needs into functional specifications, and design integrated business processes aligned with end‑to‑end real estate operations.
  • Lead quality and delivery execution, including testing strategy, configuration and design reviews, ensuring solutions meet business needs and delivery commitments.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship by guiding engineers and functional teams, reviewing designs, coaching on SAP functional modules, integration patterns, testing, configuration, and data best practices.
  • Assess and champion emerging technologies and innovations to automate processes, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen Embedded IT as a shared services provider.
  • Engage with senior leaders, architects, vendors, and technical experts to resolve complex platform and integration challenges and influence technology direction.
  • Develop and deliver enablement materials including documentation, training, and knowledge transfer for end users and support teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of technology delivery and relationship management experience with small and large business units in a large corporate environment
  • 5+ years of SAP Configuration hands‑on experience with S/4 HANA Digital core modules
  • 5+ years of hands-on configuration experience with S/4 HANA data integration solutions, including asynchronous, synchronous, real-time streaming, messaging, event based and REST API’s, also including ETL and ELT in heterogeneous application tech stack across on premise, custom, COTS, SaaS and cloud native solutions

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services and commercial real estate technology, including corporate real estate platforms supporting lease management, capital planning, transaction management, and real estate accounting/valuation.
  • Deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA with a focus on RE-FX (Contracts & Lease Management) across ECC and S/4 environments, including hands-on implementation and support of real estate management solutions.
  • Strong functional SAP experience across key modules, including FICO (GL, AA, COPA), Project Systems (PS), MM, EPPM, CLREM, and REFX, with emphasis on lease accounting, asset management, and subledger/balance sheet processes.
  • Experience across the modern SAP ecosystem, including BTP, Fiori, Workflow, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), with exposure to RISE, GRC, MDG, and ARIBA integrations.
  • Proven experience with enterprise data and integrations, including real estate canonical data models, platform integrations, APIs, microservices, service-to-service communication, and modern data platforms (Databricks, Data Lakes).
  • Strong consulting, leadership, and communication skills, with ability to influence stakeholders, support global/hybrid teams, and effectively translate complex technical concepts for business audiences.
