Evening ShiftPerforms tasks to decontaminate, prepare and package medical – surgical supplies. Unloads, sorts and picks up linen from semi-trailer and delivers to departments. Completes sterilization procedures, monitors processed storage and distribution of medical – surgical supplies to various areas.

PositionPurpose
The Sterile Processing Technician II( SPT) provides hospital and affiliated facilities with processed materials and equipment by executing established procedures for decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization. Maintains efficient flow of processing procedures, throughappropriate caseset-up, anticipation of health care providerrequestsand patient care needs.
WhattheSterileProcessing Technician II( SPT) will do:
Assembles instruments correctly, ensuringappropriate cleanlinessand function is achieved.
Prepares instruments for sterilization through proper packaging, rigid containersystem, and wrapping techniques.
Sterilizes instruments by correctly loading carts and operating sterilizers (Steam Sterilizer and Low Temperature).
Maintains efficient flow of processing procedures, throughappropriate casecart set-up, anticipation of health care provider requests and patient care needs.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Graduate from a sterile processing program
1 year of experience in Sterile Processing department
One year of general work experience
Certification in Central Sterile Processing
Membership in Central Sterile Processing Professional Organization
