Rakuten Symphony's CPaaS (Communication Platform as a Service) business unit is a rapidly growing, dynamic team providing cloud messaging platforms to enterprise customers. As we scale our direct sales capabilities, we are seeking a dedicated professional to optimize our supply chain and strengthen our procurement management processes.
We are looking for an operational lead to drive our business processes, bridging the gap between procurement and financial execution. This role is central to our growth, ensuring that our operations are efficient, compliant, and scalable. You will work in a diverse, international environment, providing a great opportunity to enhance your global business skills.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing:Manage supplier contracts, issue and track Purchase Orders (POs), coordinate delivery schedules, and optimize the end-to-end procurement process.
Billing & Payments:Oversee billing documentation, verify invoices, manage payment processing, and ensure accurate financial recording.
Business Analysis & Optimization:Perform cost analysis, design and monitor KPIs, and develop reporting tools to drive cost-effective operational improvements.
Stakeholder Management:Act as the primary point of contact for internal governance/procurement teams and external vendors/partners. Handle inquiries from internal business teams.
Compliance:Ensure full adherence to internal policies and external regulations regarding procurement and payments.
Team Support:Provide backup and support to the CPaaS Finance Controller.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of professional experience in procurement, sourcing, sales administration, trade administration, or project management.
Japanese:Native-level proficiency (required for invoice adjustments, understanding accounting terminology, and negotiating/communicating with customers and suppliers).
English:Business-proficient (must be able to handle daily team communication; fluency is not required).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
Deep understanding of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) workflow with a proven ability to propose process improvements.
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
A strong desire to learn, grow, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
