Working Pattern: 35 Hours Per Week, Monday to Friday, Term Time + 5 days

The primary duty is supervising whole classes during short-term teacher absence, implementing pre-set work programmes. The supervisor manages student behaviour according to the Consequences Policy to maintain a constructive working environment. Responsibilities include assisting in preparing the environment and materials, responding to student questions about the set work, and collecting completed assignments. Administrative tasks involve supervising student entry/departure, accurately recording and reporting lesson attendance. The role also supports examination logistics by assisting in exam invigilation and reporting back on pupil behaviour or issues using referral procedures.
Essential skills required are the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences, maintain confidentiality, and utilize standard ICT packages including Microsoft Office. The supervisor must demonstrate excellent time management and organisation skills. Critically, they must be able to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner and recognise potential child safeguarding issues. Experience of working in a school environment is desirable. The ability and willingness to obtain and/or enhance qualifications and training and development is essential.
