About the role
MSS Security is seeking a Full Time Court Security Officer to join our team at a Melbourne court. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of court staff, visitors and the public.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct security screenings for court staff and visitors.
Operate security systems, including metal detectors and x-ray machines to identify potential risks or prohibited items.
Perform scans and thorough bag searches when necessary to ensure compliance with court regulations.
Monitor courtrooms during hearings.
Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents or emergencies.
Provide a high standard of customer service to court staff and visitors.
Ideal candidates will have:
Previous experience in security or a related field (highly desirable).
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deescalate tense situations.
A readiness, confidence and assertiveness to manage challenging situations.
Requirements:
Must be an Australian Citizen
Valid Victorian Security Licence.
Valid Victorian Drivers Licence.
Certificate II in security operations (or higher).
Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain).
Valid First Aid & CPR Certificates (or willing to obtain).
Willing to undergo a National Police Check.
24/7 Availability.
