This position is responsible for reviewing, drafting, and processing a wide range of mediation-related documents in accordance with Florida Statutes, rules, and regulations. Demonstrates strong judgment and discretion in case scheduling, calendaring, monitoring, and the timely issuance of court orders and notices, while adhering to judicial directives and strict deadlines. Collaborates on general departmental responsibilities with the Mediation Manager for ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures. This is an independent administrative role requiring heavy public contact in Mediation for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Division under the supervision of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Director.

Education, Experience, Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and three years of experience processing and maintaining administrative and/legal records; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the rules and procedures of court-ordered mediation and arbitration proceedings.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of cases, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility in assisting in all functional areas of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Division.
  • Ability to travel between courthouse locations within the County to cover for other program staff as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, impartiality, and honesty in handling matters before the court.
  • Knowledge of modern office equipment, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of record-keeping practices and procedures.
