Anticipated Hiring Range: $21.25 - $27.88 hourly

Full Pay Range: $21.25 - $34.50 hourly

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. A higher wage would only be offered based on legal experience (i.e., such as that with a law firm). Additional questions regarding pay can be discussed with HR during the hiring process if you are offered the position.

This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek

About the Position

Take the lead and become our Court Operations Specialist Senior!

As the Court Operations Specialist Senior, you will assist the Clerk of the Superior Court with the disbursement of court-ordered fees and provide account receivables to the public, the legal community, Courts, County and other governmental agencies so that they can be assured that all Superior Court monies are properly receipted, accounted for, and disbursed.

We Require

• High School Diploma or GED
• Three years’ experience with at least one year of customer service and two years’ clerical/administrative experience
• OR
• Two years at the Clerk of the Superior Court as a Justice System Clerk or higher
• Post-secondary education may substitute for two years of the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis

We Value

• Experience in a financial, accounting, or bookkeeping work environment
• Experience processing legal documents
• Experience preparing legal fees and fines
• Experience receiving and processing legal payments received by mail or in person
• Experience reconciling and balancing accounts in a legal, court or justice system support environment
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

Job Contributions

• Enters criminal financial obligation information of moderate complexity into an automated accounting system
• Posts court-ordered payments received expediently and accurately
• Acts with a clear sense of ownership, taking personal responsibility for decisions, actions, and failures
• Sorts, routes and copies documents received from the court pursuant to established procedures
• Performs necessary account research and maintenance making complex adjustments and calculating account balances as required
• Responds to customer inquiries both in person and via the telephone, providing the highest level of service possible
• Displays positivity throughout interactions with people and processes. Speaks up appropriately to improve Clerk of the Superior Court
• Performs victim locate activities utilizing a variety of resources
• Interacts with the Court and related agencies in seeking to ensure the accuracy of information entered on the automated system
• Builds constructive relationships with people both similar and different from oneself in an open, friendly, and accepting way
• Provides extensive customer service by responding to a high volume of written and verbal inquiries from a variety of sources
• Respects and cooperates with others to get the job done in the most efficient and effective way possible
• Provides training for new and peer staff

Working Conditions

• Work is primarily performed in an office setting that consists of a high-volume and fast-paced environment with long periods of sitting while completing computer activities
• Selected candidates must successfully complete and pass a criminal background check
• Consistent Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule; teleworking based on business needs and supervisor approval
• Ability to travel to and from job-related locations during a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles on County business
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull boxes and other items of up to 20 pounds and carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds a distance of 500 feet
