The Deschutes County Circuit Court in Bend, Oregon, is hiring a Criminal Judgment Clerk (Court Operations Specialist).
In this role, you will support our judges by opening new criminal case files and scheduling same-day hearings. You will perform data entry related to pleadings, search warrants, secret indictments, release agreements, and judgments and will check these documents for accuracy and completeness. You will update case information in the electronic case management system. You will also review cases and payment schedules to determine if payments for fines and fees are being made on time.
Additionally, you will enter information about drug and alcohol diversions and conditional discharges into the system, track dates to monitor compliance, and determine the appropriate next steps. You will spend part of your time providing customer service to attorneys, litigants, and the public in person, over the phone, and in writing. You also may be required to provide grand jury testimony and testify at failure to appear trials.
Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Four (4) years of responsible administrative experience in a moderately complex office or business setting demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this position.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
