Job Description

Our client, a prestigious disputes-led international law firm with double digit offices in onshore and offshore jurisdictions around the world, is looking for a Court Specialist to join their Hong Kong office. This position is also open to Legal Secretaries and Paralegals with experience in commercial litigation, particularly those familiar with the procedural and filing requirements of the Hong Kong High Court. Senior candidates may be considered for the role of Senior Court Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Document organisation and preparation: Organise documents and bundles for hearings, scan and fax case files, and maintain case files.
• Legal research and proofreading: Conduct legal research and proofread documents and letters
• Court filings and service: file documents with the High Court, serving of court documents on third parties, draft various court documents including affirmations of service, and liaising with court representatives at the court office to schedule or revise hearing dates.

Job Qualifications

• Over 5 years of experience as a filing clerk, litigation paralegal, legal manager, or litigation legal secretary in Hong Kong
• Candidate must demonstrate expert knowledge of litigation procedures with the Hong Kong High Court and strong experience of working with, and handling enquiries of, the office of the High Court
• Experience in an international law firm based in Hong Kong is a plus
• Excellent written and spoken Cantonese and English are required; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
• Confident interpersonal skills, with the abillity to use your initiative, being proactive, and a well-organised team player.
